Re: NCAA Football 10 Video: Powerhouse vs. Weak School (AI vs. AI)
You and I are in lockstep, just had to point this particular issue out due to several children arguing it.
I want to be excited and pumped but as of right now I'm hating what I see, especially in comparison to Madden...which has never been my cup of tea.
My schedule is too busy, my girlfriend is too hot, and my patience is too thin to be bothered with this bull****.
EA better start catering to guys like me(28) and understanding the kid generation of the 90's has grown up and we want quality.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Video: Powerhouse vs. Weak School (AI vs. AI)
Ugh.
I'm seeing the same disappointing pass rush from last year.
It drives me nuts because on RUN plays..the OL/DL interaction is fair and balanced.
But if it's a PASS play....I swear the O line wins the point of attack 90% of the time.
I should never see Utah State's O line handling the Defending NC D line like they were in that game.
Very little pressure at all..and NEVER did I see a Gator D lineman destroy an O lineman and kill the QB.
Frustrating.
I did like the incomplete passes and pursuit angles though.
But man....THE PASS RUSH....ugh.AUBURN TIGERS

Too bad they are still targeting the 10-14 year olds who can barely afford this game (let alone the console) with their parents allowance.Comment

Lol at Jsquiggles and legend. I play with Navy a lot online and Im willing to bet would blow out both of you guys. Utah st. has below avg Qbs, Wrs and oline. Why would you risk throwing into a top tier secondary and Lb core? By you guys opinion I can tell yall play with A+ to B+ schools. Especially since DEs on known passing plays pin their ears back only have 1 responsibility kill the Qb. Now you're w/o a QB for the rest of the season cuz dunlap blasted him all so you can get a first down to a game you never had a chance in. lol
That's so cool. I could care less about online and what you could or think you could do to me. I'm talking about real life. And oh no, we don't have our QB, b/c we're UTAH STATE and we're going to be so good w/him anyways right? Besides I wasn't referring to a situation b/t a team like UF taking on a team like Utah State. I was talking about a situation b/t two teams of nearly equal talent/prestige or in a bigger game situation like a bowl game or conf. title game.
FOR INSTANCE: Last year's Rose Bowl. Penn State completely gave up and ran the ball the entire 2nd half and didn't make the game a little more competitive and respectable when USC clearly had it won right?
Navy. I don't care about Navy and their offensive philosophy where you throw the ball about as many times in a season as I would in a half. In my preference of offense and what I will run, the only time I will be conservative with my play calling and run the ball, is when we are trying to chew clock But if my team was in that situation, and completely outmatched, I would at the very most run some sort of a screen. And who said I was going to lineup in 5 wide and chuck the ball right into Joe Haden or Major Wright's lap? There are a bevy of pass/screen plays I would rather call then running a dive play.
And what does me playing with "A+ to B+ schools" have to do w/anything?Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

This game is not a sim and there would be no way I could replicate anything similar to Mizzou's offense b/c of the point you make on top of the fact they lack features like formation subs and the ability to run the no-huddle/look offense w/o it being called "hurry up" or "cheesing".Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Video: Powerhouse vs. Weak School (AI vs. AI)
Unfortunately due to the flaws in 09, I could probably spread and shred my way past you, but would also be vulnerable to the same thing. While it is common to run on third down, I would argue that you couldn't find a coach who would given the score and situation regardless of prior passing success, not to mention it happened twice. Calling any kind of running play signals to your team and the other team that you've given up, and play calling was horrendous last year. Funny how you assume I play with A and B schools when you don't know me or how I play. Before I gave up on what I thought was an average game last year, I was in a dynasty with Lousiana-Monroe running a spread based offense. You can laugh at me all you want but you will never be a football coach with that philosophy. You're probably just a kid defending a game you love, which is all right, but your points make no sense so I can only assume you are the equivalent of a "skill stick" win at all costs gamer who runs on third down because they never punt.Lol at Jsquiggles and legend. Re: NCAA Football 10 Video: Powerhouse vs. Weak School (AI vs. AI)
The argument isn't about schemes, which I have mentioned several times are flawed, it was about the likelihood of a team running on third and long in that situation. I don't think people who quote me read AND comprehend my posts.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Video: Powerhouse vs. Weak School (AI vs. AI)
I agree with this. I'm a Michigan fan and we never huddle, but in the game because of the arcade fast forward style hurry up, running the Rodriguez originated spread is impossible without it being an exploit. Fatigue also appears to be broken as well as the endurance of a player to balance out speed. For example: A DE or LB might be fast, but they can't maintain top speed in most cases like an offensive skill player. Either way, players in this game seem to maintain top speed for a ridiculously long time IMO.I'm talking about real life.

I haven't read all the comments, so this may of been mentioned but, at 1:09 on the video, when the Gators are kicking the FG, the stat box in the lower right hand corner reads FG stats - Make 1 ATT 1 Long 31. It just doesn't sound right to me. I think it should be more like, FG stats - 1/1 Long 31 yardsComment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Video: Powerhouse vs. Weak School (AI vs. AI)
Exactly, and when I play on harder levels, ofc my players (who should be conditioned and accustom to this tempo of offense) are more fatigued than the defense, and then the cpu will sub in defensive backs for 3 plays. :/I agree with this. This is another reason why we need formation subs.Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Video: Powerhouse vs. Weak School (AI vs. AI)
I would like to apologize to you. I was responding to the thread on my cell phone w/o actually ever seeing the video. lol Now, The 1st run play was 3rd and 7. I've seen a draw work in this situation soo many times. Its actually one of the best playcalls as the defense is sometimes caught off gaurd looking for the pass and its safe.Unfortunately due to the flaws in 09, I could probably spread and shred my way past you, but would also be vulnerable to the same thing. Play #2 - 3rd and 3 the play call is perfect(yes perfect) its just executed poorly. There are 4 Utah St players(OT,OG,C,FB) blocking 3 Gators(LB,DE,DT). I never played ball in college but did in HS so Im no Offensive mastermind but those calls make alot of sense. :wink:Comment
