Re: Official NCAA Football 10 Demo Impressions
I had about 100+ yards rushing with OU, mostly up the middle runs. really got to follow your blockers and not mash on the speed burst. I had a 30 yard TD run as my longest run so far. I-form stretch play where I cut it up in between the Guard and Tackle and behind my FB, then broke 1 tackle and was off. looked really nice, only wish we could look at replays and/or save replays in the demo. This tells me that most drives are being done via the pass. Have you (or anyone) had success mixing it up? or having a drive just running the ball down the CPU's throat? How about the CPU? are they only moving the ball via the pass? I'm sure the play calling is hampered by the two minute quarters.... arrghhh.
strangely, I felt that passing was harder to do than it was in '09. the CPU was getting a good rush on me and the pass coverage is better than '09, but have yet to see any of those super LB/DB type plays that past NCAA games had(even last-gen)Last edited by Solidice; 06-18-2009, 12:32 PM.Comment

Re: Official NCAA Football 10 Demo Impressions
I like what I'm reading so far. I hope I feel the same way after playing the demo tonight.I think I need to apologize to EA, this demo is tight. I just won my 2nd game 10-6 with Florida. The biggest predetermined gripe I had with the game was the potential lack of a pass rush and I was being way to presumptuous, being that I had quite a fun time wreaking havoc on Sam Bradford. I love the game plan feature as well. I really like the way the receivers run their routes, the incompletions, and the overall feel of the game.
The presentation is lacking but I don't think it's a make or break situation. Overall, this is a solid demo IMO. Once again I apologize to EA.Comment

Re: Official NCAA Football 10 Demo Impressions
Running the ball was a disaster in '08 (Heisman, no other level was even playable), and despite the running game being improved in '09, the broken pass rush and guaranteed-open receivers made it way too easy to pass (so why ever run, unless to mix it up a tad?).
If it's still the general case for user vs. AI that passing is wayyy easier than running, then the gameplay is (still) fundamentally broken.
I understand it's OU and UF, who both have good defenses. However, if a stellar offense can't run it at all against a good defense...
I hope I'm just reading too much into the initial impressions.Last edited by jeeve; 06-18-2009, 12:34 PM.Comment

rocket catch is still in the game.which is pathetic. everything else is good but i guess the devs didnt learn anything at all from the rcing in madden 09.Comment

Re: Official NCAA Football 10 Demo Impressions
I love the demo, it is like NCAA 9.5 and not a 10 though!
But the minor additions are pretty nice! Gameplay is much smoother and nice new animations, especially the running.
Like someone else said," I have yet to win a game, but it's fun"!
2min quarters is too short, but 1 half and I was getting beat by 14.
Overall it's a definite buy!Comment

Re: Official NCAA Football 10 Demo Impressions
You expect mostly positive first impressions, yes, but I'm also reading things that encourage me as far as worries people had that turned out to be maybe a tad overblown. They may still be issues, but not as much as they appeared to be on initial look at the video. That's more of a plus to me than just hearing "Man, this game is fun!", cause I thought last year's was fun too anyway. But I'm encouraged...can't wait to try it out for myself tonight.Comment

Re: Official NCAA Football 10 Demo Impressions
That royally sucks.
Even if they sliders work, I doubt my pass-happy friends will enjoy letting me tune the sliders for our dynasty so that the running game isn't worthless.Last edited by jeeve; 06-18-2009, 12:49 PM.Comment
