Re: What the heck is Josh McDaniels doing? Now Marshall wants out
They would NEVER trade anyone to oak-town if you ask me. But it would be interesting to watch his career get flushed down the crapper...
The Broncs are in the driver seat, all marshall can do is buckle up and play...or say bye-bye to his huge contract.
I think bowlen needs to tell him if he can stay injury and arrest free, then he will get his pay raise. If he declines, i would just slap the franchise tag on his a$$.NFL - Denver Broncos

Re: What the heck is Josh McDaniels doing? Now Marshall wants out
Thats not true. Its a hollow victory if they dont give into Marshall and then go 3-13. It could get really ugly if the team goes 3-13, especially with what happened after Cutler. Marshall does have some leverage. But I actually think its more Bowlen who is taking the hardline stance more than McDaniels. At times it has seemed like McDaniels wasnt really aware of what Pat was doing. I think there was one interview after a practice where McDaniels words didnt really lineup with what Bowlen allegedly said. They would NEVER trade anyone to oak-town if you ask me. But it would be interesting to watch his career get flushed down the crapper...

I think McDaniels wants Marshall to stay in the worst way because he doesnt want to fail but Pat is starting to take a hard line.Comment

Re: What the heck is Josh McDaniels doing? Now Marshall wants out
Trading him to Oakland would be suicide. The Vikings still don't have a number 1. The Ravens, Titans, Bucs, and Bears are all teams that could be very good if they had a big time WR on the roster.
Yes, I said the Bucs. They could be this year's Falcons if Freeman continues to progress.Comment

Re: What the heck is Josh McDaniels doing? Now Marshall wants out
How does that even compare? Your talking trading a threat to a rival team, whom you face during the year. Even WORSE, facing him with a so far questionable (face it, the whole team right now is a ?) secondary.

Re: What the heck is Josh McDaniels doing? Now Marshall wants out
Really? Isn't he in the top 3 in receptions for the past two seasons? You don't need to reply its a rhetorical question...
-3rd in receptions last season with 104.
-7th in rec. yards with 1,265

Re: What the heck is Josh McDaniels doing? Now Marshall wants out
You obviously didn't watch many Broncos games.
He had 4 fumbles and they were all because of being lazy and not securing the ball. 2 of them came at extremely crucial times and very well cost the Broncos those games.
And he drops plenty of passes, usually when he is in open space.
Nothing Arvbas said about him is incorrect.Comment

He catches way more than he drops... I'm pretty sure the ratio is quite lopsided when it comes to catches:drops. You obviously didn't watch many Broncos games.

Re: What the heck is Josh McDaniels doing? Now Marshall wants out
Agreed, that could be said about any receiver though I would imagine. Just watching game after game with him makes it seem like he drops more than he should, fumbles in times when he should be clutching the ball as tight as possible.

3 as a receiver, 1 as a "running back" on a reverse.
edit: By the way, I would agree with you that just looking at his stats doesn't make it seem like he has ball security issues. (I couldn't find a dropped passes stat.)Last edited by kehlis; 06-20-2009, 07:22 PM.Comment

He is a 57% catch rate, which is low for an "elite" receiver.

Re: What the heck is Josh McDaniels doing? Now Marshall wants out
57% isn't bad for a receiver who makes his bones going across the middle...Yea he fumbled 3 times but do you understand he takes on Linebackers and safeties... He can't win them all. As far as being elite, I wouldn't put him in that category---good yes but great---nah...
I'm just saying he is worth the so-called trouble."when you win nothing hurts"-Broadway JoeComment
