Would be Nice to play other teams as 1 team can get so boring sometimes or playoffs if your team doesnt make it .

Then every trade would have to be made by you which I thibk is kind of boring and less realistic.

Wrong. Then you could keep your roster completely accurate like I do. I like to keep my season right on par with the real one.

Like in the NBA last year when Jason Kidd got traded to Dallas. I was able to keep up with that on NBA 2K. Same goes for hockey.

Unrealistic?? I don't think so.

dorismary, you really have no clue what you are talking about. What you may consider to be "simple" or "basic" info is still info nevertheless. EA has a marketing plan in place where they release info at certain times (and with certain sites like Gamestop, etc). They don't want to release it too early as they don't want to tip their hand to the competition.

The NDA I signed is a legal contract that has some serious repercussions if any of the terms are compromised. You may not like it, and it may not agree with your schedule, but that's the way it is.

EA, 2k, or any company doesn't owe anyone anything...they could certainly wait a lot longer to release any information on their games. We are fortunate that they are active with the community and do release information prior to release.

I just think its 1derful to finally get some real in game info and not just fluff for real hardcore NHL Fans who also play the game and understand the game.:wink: Not just gimmics for kids who wanna score 100 goals online.

Yes because a fully fleshed out GM mode that may be tied into dynasty mode is fluff. You have no clue what an NDA is and how it works in the game industry, your posts make it pretty obvious.

Thanks for explaining, I get what your saying, but you still dont get to be the GM, your just playing as if it were the real NHL..

Prospects game might be the first step to the Canadian Hockey League, hopefully if it is the 2009 draft class and we can move those guys to there right teams.

They might make it the draft class, minus the actual names, but they can't use the actual names of the players until they have played an NHL game and waivers are signed. They could always create the players under false names though and allow us to edit the names ourselves.

Well when EA made baseball games they always had fake players in AAA/AA/A and you could edit them into the right players.

So much love right now, so very much love! This game just became an instant must buy, hell it shall be the first game I have ever preordered in my nineteen years of gaming~

This is fantastic, no awesome, no it is Super Special Awesome! (props to anyone who gets that reference)

Of course now I pretty much have no interest in playing NHL 09. I would like to have gotten my Dynasty off and running (and posted here as I planned) however been busy and my 360 died for a while. Nevertheless with GM Mode I will probably play this game religiously for a while. The board battles just puts the icing on the cake and the added Playoff intensity is the strawberry on top.

... now I wish I had some cake.

Nah thats the only way to play IMO as a option REAL Rosters . Its called total roster control and both baseball games have it and here it is the keyword as a OPTION :wink:
I think it sucks to have players on wrong teams stars and scrubs I kind like to track my season with the real current NHL season .
I know the kids like the fantasy stuff score 200 goals , or cheat online but i just hope they put a little effort into the old Dy Nasty mode for better offline replay value .
At worse I can at least play cup playoff mode all year with my current rosters my only fear is if that mode doesnt let you choose or play as all teams

I also hope they have a roster share as i do full gear edits top shelf Eh !

Exactly. And thats the whole point. At least for the way "I" play. Its just a different way to play season mode. Everybody has their preference

Thats why a game should have options to cater to many types of players.

I understand how what you're saying though. You're talking more about playing as an NHL GM. But I don't care to play as a GM. I play my season more as a spectator. Keep the rosters accurate, and jump in and play the matchups I wanna play. Thats all.

Same here ! You know in over 20 years of gaming I never once created myself in a game .
I like the real thing thats why they get paid the big bucks and Im playing b league 3 nights a week

Would drive me nuts seeing Sid on LA and then seeing him on ESPN with his real team Pitt .

Nothing wrong with playing your season as a GM....

or your team versus the league..... or as a spectator.

Its just what you prefer.

But at least give us the option.
