Ok, I would really like to see a transition year next year. I will still buy this game, because it doesnt take too much to make me happy considering how much I love CFB. Next year, I dont want to see things like SS, I'd rather see legit work on gameplay and atmosphere of the game, not just camera flashes and windsocks. My Teams:
Michigan State Spartans
Detroit Lions
Georgia Bulldogs
Miami Hurricanes

Re: NCAA Football 10 - Current Plans
Russ himself said they tuned the sliders this year. How are we to believe that when they were clearly broken? I'd love to know how the design team tested the results of this slider tuning given the fact the beta showed they were useless (and especially after all the complaints and problems with '09). Testing sliders, pass rush, qb AI, effectiveness of running games, etc. are the responsibility of the game design team and not some minimum wage kid looking for bugs. When there is a problem with major gameplay items and features it falls on the guys in charge. Let's not let them pass the buck on this.
Some of the many glitches and problems in the demo are readily apparent. So were some issues with the game from Steve's beta copy. If the main game has that many big issues, how many smaller issues will be found when the game is launched? Who cares about a tester finding the small goofy stuff that is wrong when the main areas are flawed. What's even worse is that a handful of short videos exposed major problems with the game that the design team failed to see. I'm not buying this year and I see little hope right now for next year.Comment

The problems in the demo and this game have nothing to do with testers. As far as I'm concerned testers catch glitches and bugs that are hard to see and in obscure areas. Since when do we need a tester to tell the game design team there is no pass rush?

Now 2010 launches with broken sliders. I would find it very hard to believe that they even looked at the sliders this year and even if they say they will "fix" them, I highly doubt that enough time and energy will be committed to actually make them do what they are supposed to do. If they hadn't touched them in years how will they rush to fix them in a day or a week.
Buyer Beware. Thats all I'm going to say. You know the game has some problems already, I am confident more will surface once gamers start putting some significant time into it.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 - Current Plans
Ok I can finally log back in... for some reason I couldn't open OS for the last few days. And my PC here at work died.
It is entirely possible that the changes made to the sliders a few months ago got stomped on by some other changes, honestly I'm not sure how it happened yet (but we will find out). At the end of the day it did and we missed it... All I can do at this point is get it fixed.Comment

I hate to be insensitive because the truth is I know nothing about making a videogame. But I know that there are way to many problems and even more excuses. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Again I apologize for picking out your post (I've just seen this same type of response to many times)... I totally get the frustration, I'm pretty angry about the situations myself.
We are not rolling over and just letting the problems stay, we are working on solutions and fixes right now.Comment

I hate to call you out... but to me saying something is broke, looking for the reason, and fixing it; does not equal an excuse. Now if you disagree with that logic then fine I can accept that.

I realize that you & Adam aren't the ones we should point the finger at all the time, but you are the only ones that post at OS.. its hard to accept that basic elements get essentially overlooked year after year, yet not have the actual people responsible come in here and explain.
I dont know, maybe more departments from the dev. team should create OS accounts so that you don't get this type of heat day in and day out.. It would probably improve the game as well.
As you said, I'm as frustrated with this as you are..Last edited by sportzbro; 06-23-2009, 12:04 PM.Comment

The Rosters, the default pass rush pressure, and the sliders. If pursuit angles would have glitched out too, it would have been the perfect storm.
You're always going to have the Usual Suspects waiting to take their shots(many have posted in this thread already), but with the unbelievable bad luck(I'm giving the benefit of the doubt) of it being these specific issues, even those who are usually more diplomatic are lining up to fire off some salvos, letting the rhetoric fly.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: NCAA Football 10 - Current Plans
Until there are rules and regulations put on all software releases this will not change. Its not just EA, almost all the new software that is released is glitchy or broken at release. Its is very disapointing and the sad fact is they know all the issues at release. The "patch" is supposed to be used to fix MINOR issues, but most companies use it as a crutch. There are laws for most other consumer products that protect you from buying broken/incomplete goods. I have also seen the "video games don't kill people" arguement, but video game/software industry is a multi billion dollar a year industry and I think no matter what you are selling you should be held accountable. It wouldn't be so bad but say you go to gamestop or walmart or target if you open the game and play it, you have to return it for the same game. I know you can sell it on ebay or whatever but you still do not get your money back. I guess my point is no one stands by their product. Most will read this and not agree and that is fine. Here are the facts
The game will ship broken
EA knows the game is flawed
There will be no notice on the game stating that it is incomplete or broken
There will be no refund or exchanges for another game at the same price
There is no guarantee that all the issues in the game can be fixed with a patch
3 years of development on the ps3/360 should be plenty of time to get basic gameplay issues resolved.Comment
