Re: NBA Live 10 Blog: New Faces, New DNA
Same hear. I want to see how every team will play differently because of the new DNA system. In live 09 every team played the same. It was like Dynamic DNA was never in the game. Looking forward to live 10.Comment

Good Blog, I have no doubt that the Gameplay will be good since you guys have been excited since that ESPN interview. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/print?id=3900151 . I am mostly looking forward to the presentation of the game, at the end of the day when we play a sports related game we want to see the same things we would see if we were watching a NBA game. Prime Example would be of MLB THE SHOW 09. Easily one of thee best Baseball games not just because of gameplay but also because of presentation. The amount of detail captured in that game is mind blowing and i know you guys at EA can do it. I will be playing NBA live 10, i always buy live and 2k but at the same time i feel cheated when i buy 2k because they just throw artist detail and animations on a outdated game engine. so i hope i will only be buying one bball game this year. lol sorry for the long comment lol.Comment

What I'm not understanding is where the actual overall rating number comes from and how it relates to all of the DNA information. Why do we need an overall rating?Comment

Re: NBA Live 10 Blog: New Faces, New DNA
Well if it works like an Add on type of thing, then i think it covers the whole console.. I need to know because this is a factor that may decide whether I buy NBA LIVE 10 or not. Thanks btwIt's a failure on 3 levels: programming/QA/Production. That's all I can say.-iminurbaseComment

Im not saying that but that's the reason they r changing the system all together, maybe whatever formula they were using to calculate a players ovr rating wasn't directly reflective of a players skill. the rating comes from the skill ratings ran basically calculated into one rating which gives you the ovr rating. and whenever a player's skill isn't being utilized effectively or a player is performing poorly u will have a drop in that rating which in turn could drop his ovr rating.Comment

so lets say Mo Williams starts scoring like 40 points a game and Lebron is only scoring like 8 points per game u would see a number of his skill ratings drop and u would see a number of Mo Williams skill ratings rise, from there you would see a change in the ovr ratings showing basically who is the best player on the team at that time. and the DNA also shows u a diagram on the court of how to utilize the player to get the best scoring opportunities. if play live 09 u would see exactly how it works it's really in depth.Comment

Learning is fun!so lets say Mo Williams starts scoring like 40 points a game and Lebron is only scoring like 8 points per game u would see a number of his skill ratings drop and u would see a number of Mo Williams skill ratings rise, from there you would see a change in the ovr ratings showing basically who is the best player on the team at that time. and the DNA also shows u a diagram on the court of how to utilize the player to get the best scoring opportunities. if play live 09 u would see exactly how it works it's really in depth.
So where do the skill ratings come from? How is one guy an 8 in a particular skill but another guy a 75 in the same skill?Comment

New Faces, New DNA, New ways to market a product that isnt worth $60 +tax and more $ for add-ons that should be free.
Don't feed into the hype of live just yet. It happens every year.Originally posted by Michael JordanEven when I'm old and grey, I won't be able to play it, but I'll still love the game.Comment

everything is based on the real life counterparts, the numbers that they use in the game for the ratings are relative to the the %'s they shoot in real life. For example lets say ray allen shot 300 3 pointers and made 150 of them which is 50% n one season. then steve nash shot 100 3's and he hit 50. even though they both have the same 3 point % ray allen's rating should be higher because he shot and made more. with that said ray allen might have a 90 3 point rating and nash might have a 85. but the rating itself is used to more or less gage the effectiveness of that skill that that particular player has.Comment

another example if u created a player and u wanted him to be strong in one area and weak in another, how would u tell the game that, u basically speak to it through the rating system. i hope that answered all of your questions.lolComment
