Many believe that EA might have conspired to get this to happen though. While there's little to no hard evidence to support this idea, when you consider how it happened IMMEDIATELY after 2K5 went to $19.99 and seriously ate into Madden's fan base, it's not really that far fetched.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least because VC and the 2K franchise was on the verge of toppling Madden.
