I'm not a 100% but I don't think they have to be signed in order to have a picture of them in the game because in years past all the first rounders and mostly 2nd and 3rd were in the game

Yes i know that but will they be in madden 10 out the box are will we have to wait for a update which is most likely a week after the game drop???

They don't have to sign with the team, just the NFPA. Most of them have already done that.

Not sure, but wasn't Jamarcus Russell in the game the year he was drafted, and he didn't sign till late in the season....Right? Correct me if I'm am wrong?

Most rookies should be in the game. Otherwise, if a patch comes, they should be able to include the players.

They will be in the game. They always are. Like a poster above said JaMarcus Russell didnt sign till late but he was on the game. Thats the only one i can think of right off.

as adem said its not about the contract with the team its if they have signed an agreement with the NFLPA which all have if they want to play in the NFL

and chargers give me a team that has underachieved as much as they had with all those so called "playmakers"

Not sure where on earth you are getting your information or speculation from, but it couldn't be further from the truth.

Madden NFL 10 (out of the box) will have 99% of all the high profile rookies from the 2009 NFL Draft.

Stafford check. Moreno, Beanie Wells, Macho Harris, Jason Smith, Mike Wallace, Derrius Heyward-Bey, Everette Brown, check, check, check. I could go on and on.

There were a few players who we did not get for the shipped rosters because they had not signed their paperwork (allowing them to be in Madden and other NFL licensed products). Donald Washington of Kansas City is the most high profile of those guys (a 3rd rounder). This was only for like 4-5 guys if I remember correctly, so this was not a huge deal at all. We will get Donald Washington in one of the first roster updates.

There are also late rounds rookies who did not make the Madden 54 man rosters. Due to the fact that our roster limits us to 54 and in the NFL currently, most teams have 80 man rosters, we have to make a lot of judgment calls as to which players make that 54 man cut.

I try and get as many of the drafted rookies on the rosters as possible. They are the building blocks of franchise mode and I know most gamers would rather have a drafted 7th round rookie with 90+ speed than a 3rd string backup veteran RG.

Name one of the rookies from the 09 class and I can tell you if he is in.

I believe the number is something like 210/230+ rookie class is in the game at ship.
