As a fan of the Campus Legend mode I'm glad to hear about the new features turning out well but EA failing to improve the game's presentation is a huge problem in my opinion. I wish I could hold off purchasing the title but sadly I am weak and need a new football title to hold me over.

so then how does this game get an 8. i think if i wrote this review, it would be a 7 or 6.5 with no major upgrades. I TOLD YALL SO!!!!! could have got this game last week but i didn't and the reason why is because i knew it was going to be the same think. thank God i just saved 62.09 at gamestop.Oakland Athletics/Phillies

The OS reviews are always the only ones worth reading IMO, and once again you guys don't disappoint. Agree that gameplay is getting better, but the game is so damn boring that the gameplay can only carry it so far. Madden has always had this problem as well until this year. Can NCAA please put forth an effort to make this actually seem like a college football game, and not some spring practice.Comment

Well, I'm in, regardless. I was playing the demo up until about 20min ago. I can't get enough of the gameplay, and that's all I care about. I'm not a big college football person, myself, anyway, so the presentation and the majority of the complaints about the game mean nothing to me. Madden is my game so this will tide me over until I see if I get as possessed by the Madden demos as I did with the NCAA demo.
With that said, I understand how many want the Madden 10 treatment on NCAA 10. Like I've said several times before, it is usually the norm that NCAA doesn't get the major game play improvements and such of the same year's Madden until the following year so I expect a MAJOR overhaul of presentation, addition of pro-tak, true gang tackling, refs, chain gangs, etc, etc. for NCAA 11...but we'll see.Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment

Saying that the gameplay is the best on next gen really isn't saying much, I hope people realize that. Each year has had some glaring issue about gameplay in it, this year the issues aren't major.
As for the review, great read Chris, best review I have read so far. You weren't afraid to say what was actually wrong with the game and what was done right.Comment

I def. agree, but gameplay alone doesn't make a football game.
That's why the last gen titles were so awesome. Gameplay was at its best, and there was just enough presentation & dynasty things to keep you into it.
Next gen though has decent gameplay, and practically zero presentational elements... causing it to be pretty lack luster... and don't even get me started on how mundane dynasty is.Last edited by sportzbro; 07-14-2009, 12:23 AM.Comment

Man, next gen has been a real disappointment in terms of sports gaming. I was really expecting we would finally get MORE in our games. Instead we are left reminiscing about the glory days back on the PS2. When will we finally see more hard work put into these games? Its been 4 years, how have they not learned to push the consoles like other developers of epic games have? Why do we still have generic stadiums, stale commentary, old equipment, subpar gameplay?
07 was a free pass, 08 was acceptable, 09 was a let down, 10 seems inexcusable to me.
Come on EA, time to quit holding back. I shouldn't even say EA though, I should specifically say NCAA Team, Madden stepped up their game, they added presentation, gameplay, online game modes, etc., all in one year. I can't imagine how awesome that game would be if they had been doing this for the past 4 years.
I really hope NCAA 11 is the year we finally get a NEXT GEN gameComment
