Classic stadiums and rosters would be cool, but I think I would rather the focus be on franchises. Online play and leagues needs work too.

Re: MLB '09: The Show Midseason Report

No complains here, except for occassional CPU late burst.

As for additions to next year's installment:

      - better fielding (i know it's good right now, but there's room for improvement)
      - Pls pls pls and pls, TV style presentation. Matt is awesome, Rex and soup can go.

      - more cutscene (TV angles please)

      - commentary ( more lines please, and please take note from 2k's commentary this year)

Thats all, other than that I'm loving this game everyday!

^^ to go with the presentation I would like a little better use of the music we get to incorporate. A little longer homerun trot so we can hear that song and maybe instead of just reliever entry music we could get "warmup" music and show the pitchers making a few tosses with their music going.

there's a few things i'd like to see from what it seems like i notice w/ the game

-sliders actually working (don't mean the pitch)
-remove cpu comeback since it's a simulation game and NOT an arcade game (seems like it's always on no matter what)
-if u're an OF running straight on a ball, don't have the OF slow down to pick it up cuz those seconds do matter for plays at a base/plate (i'm perfectly fine for when a ball is off to the side of the player but not running straight at it)
-faster catcher tag animations (all other bases seem fine but i've had numerous plays at the plate where he went into slow motion and runner ended up being safe)
-the uploading of a picture would be really cool and seems like something they could easily do but i have no reference to this haha
          -classic stadiums
-like someone else said, fix the hit analysis (perfect timing and solid contact will not repeatedly result in a VERY high popup just out of the infield/ground ball and i don't expect that to mean a hr everytime either)
-on the very, very minor side could they update papelbon's delivery to ONLY from the stretch? he hasn't pitched from the windup in 3 yrs. he's one of the few i noticed this with but there could be a few others.

that's all i can think of off the top of my head.

Yeah, midway through the season this game is in a dumpster somewhere. I believe this is the only time a game ever pissed me off so much I literally shattered the disc. The breakdown occurred after two days of dealing with the games bugs completely affecting the outcomes of games on top of what seemed to be at times, random chance outcomes not based on actual user input, in a fit of rage I shattered the game. I don't mind losing, but after spending an hour on something and having the hour cheated by an anomaly--two times in a row--would probably piss off just about anyone.

Never have I done this to any video game ever. Not even to The Show 08 or 07 and obviously not to the MVP Baseball series. I don't know what it was. But at least I got my moneys worth for a few enjoyable months with RTTS. I felt bad for my friend though, who seemed utterly disappointed I was selfish and shattered the disc instead of giving it to him. My bad, dude.

Umm, you shattered probably the best sports game ever made?? That was smart. Forget that it's the best sports game ever, you could of at least traded in or sold it. I guess that right there proves that your ignorant and your opinion shouldn't be taken seriously. Just because you suck at a game doesn't make it a bad game.

Like I said, I bought it the day it came out and since the disc-shattering day was in May, I had plenty of fun with my players in RTTS and a long-winded successful franchise. I really enjoyed playing the actual "game" with my friends, but when it came to playing against the AI, there are some serious flaws and limitations that took away from its realism and eventually feeling like playing it wasn't worth my time.

Getting to this point meant it was time for a break. And no doubt, I'll be back next year. But while I languish in the limbo that is the mid-baseball, pre-Madden season, I consider my midsummer gaming boredom a direct result of an unrivaled passion for the above "perfect" game...

Alright, alright, who am I kidding? I lost three games in a row after being up four runs or more coming into the 9th against the White Sox. I pitched perfectly, yet still got hammered by the entire lineup. In three straight games. Whatever, I was pissed. Can you blame me? If it would've been a real game I would've thrown inside at a few players, eventually have been ejected and called it a night. Instead I shattered a disc. Oh well.

MLB The Show 09 was great, but didn't cut it when it came CPU AI and overall gameplay. But this is coming from a person who thought MVP Baseball 2003 was the greatest baseball game ever. And beating a classic is a tall order. Sorry.

I still haven't seen this CPU comeback bug everyone talks about. In about my 100th game of my season I won 8-1 last night. I scored 4 in the first. The CPU doubled and singled in the 5th I think for their only run. I see this happen all the time. I also get smoked some too and I don't comeback either. I think it must have something with people not managing their pitching right and leaving starters out too long.

I'm guessing just turning the game off at that point where you were pissed wasn't an option.

                      Lets see...frustrated with a game...do I

                      a) turn it off, do something else and calm down

                      b) shatter the disc and throw my money into the trash with the pieces.

I'd choose A, but hey thats just me.

Believe me, the first two games before I was able to walk away--steamed yet still alright. But maybe I didn't leave enough separation between the second and third game of the series...I mean, what were the odds?

baseball is a funny game. I lost the first 3 of 4 to the Reds coming out of the All-Star break and 2 of those were blown leads by my bullpen. In game 4 of the series, I whipped their behinds 18-2, in a game where I scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 1st and 4 more in the bottom of the 2nd.

Trends come and go in baseball. You have to ride out the lows to experience the highs and when you feel invincible, the game will quickly bring you back to reality.

Alright, alright! Don't rub it in. You have the Show and I don't. But yeah, I get where your heads at.

To be perfectly honest, I liked The Show just as much as anyone, it's just that for about ten seconds I was an idiot. The whole thing is actually pretty embarrassing as I'm a huge fan of the series, but given the context of this article, it seemed time to share the story.
