I don't think people realize how hard it is to get a sack. But it's not always about actually bringing down the QB. Sometimes just getting pressure on him is enough to have an impact and that's what the d-end is trying to do.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
i like the demo, the game is a definite improvment over the last version.
one problem still exists(psychic D):
the D knows exactly when the receiver has the ball
during pass plays once the receiver catches the ball the entire defense turns in unison to pursue the ball carrier no matter their position on the field or assignments(not facing the play, man coverage etc..)...it doesn't matter they all turn to the ball carrier.
i wonder if this will be adjustable with a defensive awareness slider????
i will be picking the game up on release day...good job guys.Comment

The more I play the more penalties being called. Cool seeing Wade Phillips argue with the sideline judge about a call.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
That's a very good review, Watcher!! All very good points. Especially the ones about the post-play cutscenes.Just played the Steelers-Cardinals Demo...
The Good:
+Wow, the grass looks amazing. Best I've ever seen in a football game. It's actually green, lol. Good job. Now I hope ALL of the grass in every stadium looks this good, and at all times of day, too. We'll see.
+I really got hit by the pass rush a lot.
+Players have some nice weight to them.
+Control feels great. Feels like a totally different game.
+The overall graphics are the best I've ever seen in a football game. I'm far more impressed than I thought I'd be. Far exceeded my expectations. The player models are outstanding, although Big Ben is too thin, but...
+Passing has a lot of precision to it. I like the general feel of it.
+Running feels really good.
+I love the blur effects (Depth of Field).
The Bad:
-Really, REALLY disappointed with post-play. I hope it's a glitch and not made intentionally, but they end WAY too quickly. I almost have to consider this broken. Because unless this was done to appease the ADHD crowd who has only a split second of patience and has no idea that they can just press 'A', then I find it hard to fathom how this would've been programmed this way on purpose.
-The camera's during post-play are very jittery. This issue was in Madden 08, and it shipped that way. Looks like 2 seasons later we're about to see this mistake ship again. Shame, because they actually fixed this before 09 shipped.
-The other thing that disappoints me with post-play is that the camera just stops following a player all of a sudden and lets him drift off screen. It's a true "WTH?" moment. That's just bad. It gets very annoying especially after a big play happens and you don't even get a chance to see the close up celebration. This is not how it happens on Sunday's. It's painful to watch because in reality they did all of this work on these then completely nullified it all by ruining the timing.
-Not seeing the defender spotlighted after a deflection is a big missed opportunity.
-Depth of field doesn't pop up a lot of times when it should, so you see the raw crowd in spots where you certainly shouldn't and it looks very ugly.
-I notice that the replays don't always pick up at the start, meaning the beginnings of the plays are absent. I hope this is just a demo issue.
The Ugly:
-The ref conference conditions are broken. The scene pops up in the most absurd times. For example, I did a dive with Willie Parker over the line into the endzone for a TD. Now, CLEARLY that's a touchdown, lol. But the refs came out to confer. Broken.
-Many of the cutscenes don't flow properly. You see stuttering in the polygonal crowd animations, and one scene trying to fight another scene that's attempting to come up. The stars of the game overlay scene often time comes right over a normal scene which is obviously a glitch.
-The big red circle. Beyond unnecessary. Please, let's not do this in Madden 11 and beyond, or at least let people turn it off.
Overall so far:
Madden 10 is a really good football game. It actually feels like a serious football game for the first time in, oh, 10 or 11 years. The issues I described are all polish issues that I expect to be fixed by next year, I have no hope of that happening with a patch for Madden 10, so I'm not even going to think about it.
It's about time they started making football again, it's been a very long time. I can envision myself playing this one for an entire season until the next one drops. We're back on track.PSN: xxplosive1984Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you.
