Not so sure about the Gears comparison now. This game looks really good, and not as cartoony as I thought-just a tad too dark, though.
Seriously, the gangtackling has me going crazy! But, what I don't like about the gangtackling is that they seem to drag the player down, instead of hit him. They just wrap him up, and sit him down. Where, where, where are the hits?!
And I swear, the QB releases are soooo slow. Hopefully, it's just the current Gamespeed being played on.

Haha, woooow this demo is hard as crappola. Both O-lines can't block for shart, and the Steelers O is impossible to stop.

I like what I am seeing though gameplay wise. Can't wait for the retail version.

I haven't bought madden since last gen, and I wish they gave paying XBL members more than a 1 minute quarter demo, but that's the way Gamestop exclusives go these days.

It played good and it looked great. I'm not going to nitpick a ridiculously short demo, as the positives kind of stick out more for me. Just from this though, Madden has moved from "never buy again", to "strong rent" on my gaming scale.

From you guys who have played the demo...the 2 things that kept me from enjoying 09.

Not being able to run outside...in general the pass speed vs the speed of the players was off so passing game seemed poor...many routes you wouldn't even bother trying because they were impossible to complete...

How are these things looking in the demo?

I agree. It's also funny that is is so adamant about bashing Madden and he can't even get the positions down correctly. Oh well, video game critiquing keeps me entertained.

He did make a mistake between the guard and tackle but there are still issues with how the offensive line play. The left tackle should block down on the 3-4 de and the guard should pull and create a lane. The de run untouch to the qb. I am waiting before passing judgement because the cardinals was really bad last year running the ball.

It is out now if you pre-ordered from Gamestop. The other one is out next thursday.

Wow, started the demo last night at around 1130pm. Wake up this morining at 430am.......14%complete. Now, seeing that you cant actually play the box while **** is downloading, I'm seriously thinking about cancelling this ****, because I have to get my 2 games of FN4 and 1 game of NCAA before my day effectively begins.

it's obvious you're on xbox then. it locks you out when you're downloading something? that sucks.

i'm at 74 percent and i just started downloading it about 15 minutes ago.

It also appeared that there was a wide open lane to run through inside of the tackle. He could have cut back in instead of trying to take it outside. Football is all about making adjustments. It seems like that guy wants certain plays to work everytime. We will see. I'm downloading it right now.

You are correct. On pitch plays you are looking for lanes and not to run to the outside.
