I love the demo. The only thing that I wish EA would fix is how the sideline players look like cardboard cut outs. The sideline cutscenes are great but with all this technology & the power of the Next Gen consoles, why can't the sideline players look like they do in the cutscenes during gameplay? I hate to sound nitpicky but it took EA 5 years just to get refs & chaingangs so I hope it doesn't take another 5 to fix the sideline players. Also just to add to that, it's about time we get some collision detection for the sidelines as well. It's almost 2010 and we shouldn't have players walking through players on the sidelines after a play. Hopefully these things will be on the top of list for Madden 11. Other than that I can't find much fault with the game (other than the game speed being a little too slow for my taste but at least we have sliders). Good job EA.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Is it me or is this demo/game just too damn slow? I understand everyone has wanted a slower game every year, but I thought 09 was slower than most years if not all, and now 10 is ridiculous. If the retail is this slow, I may pass this year. I played the demo for 3 minutes and fell asleep waiting for Willie parker to get to the outside. Unrealistic as hell imo, the NFL is the fastest league on earth but the game is pure turtle speed.Comment

Actually I was just agreeing with an earlier impression of the game by JET SUFFERER. I agree with what he had to say.Comment

You can change the game speed with sliders in the retail game. The speed is fine the way it is tho, much less "twitchy"Is it me or is this demo/game just too damn slow? Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Finally played the demo and I had fun. How I know that is simple. I got crushed both times. The game play has many nuances that will take some hard playing time to figure out. There were also some moments when the presentation drew me in. EX after a extra point or something the camera pans and you see the big truck with the camera it almost felt like I was there for a moment, BUT what ruined that feeling was how all the special teams players just appeared on the screen at once like they teleported to the kickoff line.LOL Can't wait until the real deal ships.Pittsburgh the "City of Champions"Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Like I said. They are not obligated to release anything. There are plenty of companies that makes games and no demo is released prior to release
Does Halo or Gears or MGS have demos prior to release
Does Call Of Duty have them before release
I think is silly for people to moan about a demo that is a gift from the makers of the game who are allowing you to test the game out weather it be for 1 minute quarters or whatnot
If you are iffy about buying something then RENT it first... That is the beauty of video games
But for people to get all bent out of shape about a demo is crazy
You think Madden is going to lose sales if they do not release a demo
They will not feel it....Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Well I just had a cool but very interesting play. I blocked a FG attempt (2nd time ever maybe for me), but when I tipped the ball I caught it one handed. Cool, but unlikely. Even weirder was how the ball morphed through the air when it first hit my hand and magically transferred to my other hand!!??Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
As a strictly coach-mode gamer and avid fan of CPUvsCPU, I spent all of last night and most of this morning watching the CPU play against itself. If the animations in the retail version are a bit more polished, I think I'm going to be happy with Madden'10.
Both teams (Cowboys/Gians) played to their strengths and I was happy with the playcalling on both sides of the ball.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Whoever posted that Rocket Catch video on youtube must think we are ********.
That is not on all pro or all madden
and look at the defense being played in the demo...it is a quarter defense which backs up while fitz goes to a shorter spot and the guy uses the staff which is only for the easy levels and catches
No way is he going to have that time to pass and that kind of success or ability to straff with the receiver
I just tried it and could not straffComment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
And this is just the DEMO?? Btw, I'm a noob sauce and didn't pre-order.. I'll be out of town so I can't buy it on day one. So these impressions are just from the 1 min long quarter version.
But dang. Color me impressed. I've been playing it over and over and it's looking and feeling pretty good so far.
Pros:
-Game speed is nice. But it will be even nicer to see the flexibility with the speed options and the different sliders.
-Leverage is taken into account on many occasions. (Example, DBs not getting low enough and getting absolutely PUNISHED by Brandon Jacobs)
-Pro-tak is pretty fun so far. There are just enough instances of big pile ups to make it fun and interesting, but I'm glad they're kind of limited because that would be annoying and cheesy to have a 9 man pile up every play.
-The D-line plays really well.
-The play-calling screen is sleeker and more fluid. I like how it is less intrusive than in years past.
-Players slipping.
-Refs slipping and getting knocked around. lol
-Kicking is more difficult and less forgiving. The right stick actually has an impact on the direction of the kick... or maybe that's the 20 mph wind at The Meadowlands.
.. many others.
Cons:
-Throwing deep is a pain. Not sure if it's the wind, Romo and Manning's arm strength, or just how the game is now but it just seems like the ball is in the air a tad too long.
-Many instances of dumb AI. Replay a few shotgun passing plays and focus on each of the offensive lineman. Pretty attrocious. Hilarious actually. It's one of those things that are just really noticable in replay mode but the acutal playing of the game I don't notice it and it plays fine.
-The crowd sometimes makes it sound like you're at a high school basketball game. I'm guessing it sounds a lot better with surround sound?? lol
Anyway, Sorry if I posted things that others might have stated already. (I haven't exactly had the time to read all 1000+ posts)
Overall AWESOME job so far EA. Keep up the good work. I'm pumped.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Some folks have some kind of twisted loyalty that they can't accept constructive criticism about Madden. Instead of offering a counter point to honest criticism they just make derisive posts, as if there's nothing wrong with the blocking in the game and you and I are just making it up.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
I have one BIG question for any of you out there. I know 85% of the time the outcome of a wildcat play is usually a run. I noticed (and probaly everyone else) that there are no passing plays in the wildcat formation. Why is that???Comment
