Having a little trouble here. Downloaded the Gamestop demo last night and tried mixing it up a little bit so I was going to dl the Cowboys/Giants one. However, when I go into XBL to download the demo, all i can do when clicking on M10 is "play now". Any help from someone who's been there before? And I am a gold member.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
As a Madden 08 pc lover, I can finally put that game away.
I was going to get Backbreaker for my 'fun' football game, but I'm having so much fun with this one there is no need.
-Totally dig the way Jacobs can break out of tackles.
-Love the slower speed although might have to crank it up just a hair.
-The game actually feels alive, something that has been missing for forever. Nicely done!
-Stat banners will be great!
-I honestly don't care about the socks/handwarmers/towels/etc...but they do add to the texture of the game.
Overall, I'm having fun with just the 1 minute demo! I know people will constantly pick it apart, and maybe that's necessary to further the game along, but as long as I'm having fun it's all good!
Congrats Ian and crew, this one looks like a winner! You've turned this ship around!Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
I only managed to get in one game last night (1 min qtr version), and at the risk of scandalizing the sim-heads out there I have determined that I'm going to have to crank up the game speed. Compared to NCAA, Madden feels like an old-timers game.

Pass Rush - Turn the Corner
This is a specific question about Madden and I want to know if anyone has been able to do this on the demo at all. If you are playing as a DE (or rush OLB), can you just speed rush around the OT and get pressure on the QB without fully engaging the OT?
I'm not that good at the r-stick moves yet and wasn't able to do it in the limited time I had with the game so I can't judge the game at all on this yet. But for those with more gaming time and better skills, was DeMarcus Ware or one of the G-Men sack masters able to just run around one of the OTs?
I hate bringing up 2K4/2K5 since it usually leads to fanboy wars but in this specific area, they did it very well. A DE could get past the OT without fully engaging him while EA has always struggled with this aspect. I don't expect this to be effective all the time at all. Just want to know if it can be done once in awhile.
Thanks.Comment

The sideline catch animations still needs alot of work. I've had multiple times when I had a receiver against the sideline catching the ball and he doesn't even attempt to get a foot or two down.Comment

that was a dope catching animation but whats up with that throw? he barely moves his arm foward and the ball flies 40 yardswat happen to this catch animation?

watch at the 2:00 mark on. this animation should be happening more often than the over the shoulder jump catch in certain situations

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
I agree to an extent. Core Madden flaws such as suction blocking, bad DB coverage, or weird animations certainly aren't small gripes. Yep, those flaws are in this demo, and probaly in the game. But, IMO, there are improvements in those areas. Plus, there's alot of new stuff that impresses me. And, some of the things I'm seeing complaints about don't seem to happen that often. Now, complaining about cutscenes, warning beeps, and a player wrapping a player up instead of hitting him is a little overboard. As with any game, the devs may not get it done exactly the way everyone likes, but in this case, at least there's alot more in the game now, and done moderately well. But, I too am kinda shocked at some of these comments. I'm certainly not the most technical guy here, but this game seems to play a smooth, fun, sim game of football, finally. IMO, of course. They even got even got the toe drags, and hitting out of bounds right. I mean, c'mon. Not only did they get them right, but, everything happens so smoothly, and looks great (realistic)!
The QB makes perfect passes? What?! Personally, I've seen the QB throw as many misses as completions. I don't see any evidence of Robo QB. NONE. But, I understand knee-jerk reactions can be wrong. I believed in Madden 09...08..07, and 06. But, that was before I was really educated on the real problems. I had much less Madden knowledge before finding Apex, Moody, and others here. I'm using my eagle eye alot more these days. I appreciate those more technical than myself, especially for getting the word out about the games shortcomings. But this demo is very good, IMHO.what different about the gameplay? please explain. other than more people involved in tackles from time to time and the graphics are improved.
same crappy pass blocking, WR and cornerback gameplay is unchanged. and the CPU QB is still untouchable and makes perfect passesComment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Just played the Xbox live demo. Wow.
Now this is next gen (or is that current gen) HD gaming! Snow game at giant stadium looks amazing in 1080p. I'm liking the way it plays too and they captured Tony Romo's throwing motion perfectly.
Oh man, this demo completely changed my outlook on Madden this year. This was going to be a rental at best but I'm pre-ordering it now. I think they've turned the corner with this one. Wow.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
I LOVE that Warner can't throw a bullet pass 30 yards downfield (actually saw him bring the ball down and **** back for a deep throw, GREAT animation addition).
I LOVE that Jereme Urban doesn't catch everything.
I LOVE that Beanie Wells dropped a pass to him out in the flat.
I LOVE that Larry Fitzgerald kills DB's on high balls. I LOVE that Anquan Boldin does not! Boldin does usually take on 2 defenders before going down however....greatness.
Why do I love all this? Because RATINGS FINALLY MATTER!!!!! I actually have to make smart decsions based on personnel. I can't wait to play the final build. It's great that finally each team and player will feel and play differently.Don't look back too long and don't look too far ahead.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
On All-Madden, I am finding it impossible to sack the QB. Also the incomplete passes are usually just from knockdowns, same as last year. However, with the new sliders this will hopefully be more adjustable than last year.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
my genreal thoughts on the demo (5 min demo)... only played 1 game but i thought the game was pretty good. The game speed is a little slow but i'm used to NCAA speed so thats prob the adjustment. I'm not gonna bash it like other people seem to be doing because i thought it was pretty good, maybe not as great as i expected but pretty good. I like that its slow enough to really read the holes but maybe they can adjust it slightly or already did so it feels like real football a little.
But i thought it was good and i think a lot of the negatives are a bit of nitpicking and like the story on the front page said, sports gamers are becoming like worlds of warcraft or whatever fans where they obsess that the elfs are not the right size or whatever.
Overrall i'd say good job Ian and the boys, i'm looking forward to actually not selling Madden back after 2 weeks like i have the last 2 years.Comment
