 Re: Benched Injured players returning

Yes. In the bugs thread, Adam addressed this. When their injury period of time runs out, they will automatically return, without the modified bonus risk of injury. So, if it says it is a short amount of time, bench him or play him, and you choose bench him, he may come back on the field after a few plays anyway.

One thing that I am not sure if it is working on, is if he is hurt for a quarter. I don't recall ever having the option to have a player injured for a quarter played or benched, it seems they are automatically benched.Comment

Again, there is nothing to patch. The guy comes back because his boo-boo is all better.Comment

 Re: Benched Injured players returning

It benches the guy for as long as his minor injury remains. For example, if a guy is out for 10 plays, you're given the option of playing him or bench him. If you play him, you get him back right away, but he'll have an increased chance of injury in those 10 plays.

But if you choose to bench him, he'll sit out those 10 plays, and then come back into the game when he's fully healthy again.Comment

Yep. It is hard to notice this though, because often they come back in on the next play or two, but I have chosen "bench" and seen them out for the next 5 or 6 plays. That is where this is confusing to people, and to me at first, also.It benches the guy for as long as his minor injury remains. Re: Benched Injured players returning

I always felt this was pretty strange, that something like a broken pinkie could completely 'heal' during the course of a game and the guy could come back with absolutely no ratings hit. I've always thought that it should be kinda progressive. Like if a guy tweaks his ankle or something, he might barely be able to put weight on it if you force him into action right away, and by the end of the game he should improve, but in no way should he be completely healed.Comment

I saw this last night. I had a receiver injured for 1 quarter and was asked if I wanted to play or bench him. I chose bench him and he came back the next quarter.Yes. Cool. I just couldn't remember if I had seen it or not for quarter length injuries.

I tend to hammer the "A" button pretty quickly between plays to keep 8 minute quarter games moving along.Comment

 Re: Benched Injured players returning

I don't think any sports game has totally dealt with injuries properly. In the NHL games, for years, your guy would get hurt, come back and play, and then you'd find out after the game that he was going to miss 62 days b/c of injury or something.

I suppose so long as the guy can't reinjure himself once he's "placed" back into the game, I'm okay with it. It may not match up with what the purported injury is, but at least it doesn't harm you strategically. If the guy IS able to play, and I benched him earlier, then I'm glad it brings him back.Comment
