How does everyone feel about the pass speed on the deep ball? It's obvious that passing speeds have been toned down and they seem fine on short or intermediate passes. But the ball really seems to hang on the deep passes. Am I not supposed to lob it anymore? I didn't get to try it much but my normal lob just floated forever. Any tips or insight would be appreciated.

Everything is slower, so I didn't really feel like the deep ball was any more so than everything else.

Aside from the speed, I think that the arc is better, or the Qb leads the receiver more, or the defense can't jumd super high while running full sprint after a receiver, or a combination of the three, but it is possible, for the first tim since 07, to really throw passes over defenders heads. For that alone I think it's better.

There also seems to be more momentum on the game, which is a good thing. Safeties don't seem like they can cover from sideline to sideline like they used, which again, is a good thing.

I've only played about 4 games though so it bears watching to see if these things are really in the game, or if the defenders just didin't dial up the right swat animation that will still allow them to cover receivers after being beaten by several steps.

That over-the-shoulder-catch and subsequent low tackle by the defender happens WAY too much. I hope that's just a demo thing.

Im telling you I am not buying this game unless they fix the momentum issue, I was playing the Cards and it was 4th and 1, Warner throw to Boldin and caught it in the endzone but his momentum coming back to the ball brought him out of the endzone, so when he went to cut back he was back on the opposite side of the first down marker got knocked out of bounds, no Td no first down.WTF?

yea thats always been annoying. you'd think they'd fix that by now...but not EA!

I noticed the same thing, and aforementioned low tackle usually reults in drop of said over the shoulder catch as well, which is extremely frustrating.

Seemed ok to me but I didn't really check per se. I had one run with Parker for a nice gain and ran him again after that and it seemed to have an effect.

I hate that the playcall screen pops up during cutscenes, hopefully that isn't the case in the release...

the play call screen in general is a big mess, last years was dope, with replays, stats and all that. idk why they changed it

Yeah, I think the speed change is really throwing a lot of people off. I, too, noticed that the ball hangs quite a bit more, but honestly, I'm not sure that isn't more realistic. Madden has typically handled this better than NCAA, but in both games, the ball seems to get there in no time at all.

Also, the lower camera angle (and ball indicator) allow you to actually see the ball in the air, which wasn't always possible before.

I haven't played Madden much so excuse my ignorance, but is there a way to strafe with a defender in this game? I played a couple of games yesterday & like what I saw but very frustrated that there were no tips on how to do certain things in the game.

That has always been annoying. The other thing I hate is when the RB goes out on a screen to the right, I throw the ball and he runs back to the left to catch it and it it takes him quite a few steps after catching it, to turn back around and go back right. Needless to say, the defense tackles you in soon after while you get a glimpse of all the open field you would have had if the game handled certain things properly.

On the 360, you hold down the left trigger I believe. I'm assuming it is L2 on the PS3.
