That's exactly how I feel roadman. I'd rather have as much fun I can than have a couple glitches in a game piss me off to where I refuse to notice that the game is improved. It's a video game. Stuff like that is going to happen. The more serious you take it the less fun you'll have.Originally posted by roadmanOriginally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises. -
Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Wish I could save a replay in the demo and show this closeup but I can't.
I didn't realize it was still an issue with Madden 10 with the ball literally traveling through the receiver instead of him catching it or him dropping it. Have seen closeup evidence of this twice now and it's disappointing. Either drop it or catch it, but don't turn into transparent man. Sheesh.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
That's usually been true. But, I think this year is much more divided between those who think there were still only small improvements vs. those who think the changes are huge this year. To me, this game seems so different from any other recent madden. I hated 09, even more than 08. The run game was atrocious last year. Not that there was much of a run game at all. But, 09 still looked like 06, 07, and 08. This game doesn't resemble those games at all, IMO. I guess it's plain to see from the graphics upgrade, but, the gangtackling is unlike anything I've ever seen before gameplaywise. There's alot more gameplay in this demo I haven't seen before as well. But, it also has some nasty, very ugly animations, I wish I'd never seen, though, too.PANIC!! really? did anyone expect a different game? i mean its still the same madden with tweaks to gameplay. overall yea a bit improved...i personally like the changes...BTW its a demo...so either buy it or dont. Improvement only comes in small doses with a one year development cycle.Last edited by LAKE4742; 07-24-2009, 06:50 PM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
It has been said that if someone calls the same play over and over that the D players will react sooner like they know whats coming because they in fact do.my madden 10 demo impression is like this: the game will get played and I'll be a beast no matter what changes happen to madden because i adjust each year, however, the change seems to have favored these so called "sim" players who will be in for a rude dissapointment when they realize the game will be just as "cheesy" if not "cheesier" than 09 and past versions. its seems to me EA "band-aids" alot of problems in the game, for example, look at man-coverage in 09/ it was horrible unless you had the raiders, so what happens in 10? you get what i call "nostradamus" DB's or Madden 3000 DB's, these MF's see the futre for real. lol.
here goes and example:

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
I'm seriously not trying to discourage you from doing what you want but the amount of videos you see showing glitches is no indictment of Madden itself. Making these kind of videos became the "cool" thing to do. Everyone is looking for their Youtube channel to blowup. Monkey see monkey do. You can hunt for bugs in any video game and make these kinds of videos all day long because ITS JUST A VIDEO GAME. Really don't know what some are expecting sometime. If those weird things happen every play it's a major problem otherwise big deal. I wonder how many videos we all could make showing what the game does right. Then the geek boys finding glitches would look kinda silly.Man, I'm going to stop playing the demo and delete it from my hard drive. I can't ever remember a year when this many videos were out showing problems with the game. Yes, it's a demo, and I pray it's not the final build but the more I play the more I see. I was just playing a game and I threw a pass to Breaston the ball would have hit him perfectly in the chest except it went right through his body and was picked of by Troy Palomolu *sp. That is just crazy. Should not be happening.
I'm going to reserve judgment on the game until I play the full retail version. If it still has all these issues EA needs to do the right thing and give up the exclusive license so someone else can have a shot at it.
I respect Ian and his team for what they are trying to do. I think it's great that they have come here and interacted with us on these forums, and I am in no way bashing them or their work. But........ To be continued August 15th.Last edited by Champ24; 07-24-2009, 06:55 PM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
I have no idea what your beef is with me, but I'm going to ask you to please get over it and stop with this nonsense. I'm posting my impressions. Either deal with them or put me on ignore so you don't have to read them, I don't really care.I know they're your impressions. That goes without saying.
To say you only "liked" Madden 09 is misleading. You LOVED it, you literally dominated the early impressions thread with hundreds, possibly over a thousand posts on every single page gushing over how great it was.
You're doing the same thing this year.
If you're going to dominate these forums it's only fair that people know you were a one-man human hype machine for Madden 09. Why not put it in your sig? Something like: DISCLAIMER: I LOVED MADDEN 09, the only thing I could find wrong with it was that it was so awesome I was mad that my body required sleep, so my impressions of Madden 10 might be a tiny bit skewed by my love for the series.
Surely you know where I'm coming from, let's not be coy here.
But I'm not about to go round and round with you, nor will I adhere to any of your "suggestions". This is an impressions forum. People post their impressions of the game both good and bad. There are those who are fans of the series and there are those who hate the series. Its up to each individual reader to make their own sound judgment based off of what they read.
I'll post what I feel as I feel it and people can view them how they wish. If they agree fine, if they don't, fine. I really don't care. What I don't care for is someone challenging my opinions/impressions simply because they disagree with them.
With that said, I'm done with this and I'm going to ask that you please stop making me out as some "bad guy" simply for having an opinion that you disagree with.
Thanks and take care...
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

well then make the videos. its the "ITS JUST A VIDEO GAME" attitude that allows EA to steady put out poor quality games and make money doing it. also i think most of dont know a difference between glitches and bad programmingI'm seriously not trying to discourage you from doing what you want but the amount of videos you see showing glitches is no indictment of Madden itself. Some of those weird plays does happen often and can easily go against your favor. Some of the issue can occur during the 4th QTR within a two minute warning and can cost others the game. People say it's just a video game. The game is marketed as a simulation. I expect these errors from NFL Tour not Madden. "Everything you see on Sunday". I don't see players turning around in circle and warping on to someone to bring them down on Sunday.I'm seriously not trying to discourage you from doing what you want but the amount of videos you see showing glitches is no indictment of Madden itself. I think I understand what you're trying to get across. Yes, part of the allure of videogame forums, is getting educated and intelligent opinions and answers. But, it still is just a forum. And people can and will change their minds later, based on more playtime. That's why it's best to take others opinions with a grain of salt, and make up your own mind.I know they're your impressions. That goes without saying.

My biggest problem last year was the abscence of any kind of running game. I could've dealt with Robo QB, players running out of bounds, etc. But, I couldn't even pretend to enjoy it without being able to effectively run the ball. That's why MY mind changed so much last year. So, this year, the run game is much improved, and right now I'm pretty happy, and content. I undertstand this engine is crap, and at this point it's all we got. So, I applaud Ian and his team for truly working on it, and showing so much effort. The game seems much improved, period, even way beyond the running game.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Good point. However, I seem to have an easier time playing with Pittsburgh on defense. I wonder if this is just a matter of the better team playing better. Yet, I do think the CPU defense plays smarter than when a human is playing with them. That is one of the things I don't like. I don't understand why developers always dumb down the human defense. It's very irritating. Just let my guys play defense to - please. What defenses do you guys have success with? It seems like you can't go all out man, so (like I had to do with the last Madden) you just have to put everyone in zone and hope that the defensive pattern happens to much up with the offensive one. It's very frustrating that it's so unreliable. And to top it off, it seems that the CPU plays perfect pass defense. They press at the line and hold my guys there, and when they do release they are actually running slightly ahead of my receiver on their routes. Clearly the potential is there for the AI to play competent defense (even too competent), so why the heck does it only happen for the CPU and not my CPU teammates??
That being said, I'm still excited about the game and can't wait. Plus, this is the demo so some final tuning has yet to take place. When the game is on the line, winners want the ball.Comment

RMoody, told me it happened randomly during his game 3 times out of 50 plays. That's not often.
I've seen it no more than 2 times per game and they don't happen every game, either. Let's not forget, it's just a demo here too.
People keep posting repeats in here as well.
My request would be to please check to see if the negative video you want to embed here is already posted. Just clicking on the last page doesn't cut it.Last edited by roadman; 07-24-2009, 07:10 PM.Comment

Why would EA drop the license when they know people like yourself who are unhappy with the product, will buy it anyways.
Your feelings are perfectly valid and correct, but you need to show some restraint and choose not to hand them your $60.
I was like yourself up until but last year where i finally said NO! to Madden. This year will be the same, they have made great strides with Ian Cummings at the helm, getting them away from stupid gimmicky features and focusing on football, but the product still lacks polish and maybe next year they can tweak it, and put out something more lifelike.
if anything, i suggest renting from gamefly, or buying it used. their numbers have gone down year over year, and i think it's worked since oddly enough they've started making some core changes to the Madden formula.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Ok, these beefs by people are on the money. This is happening way too much in the demo. I don't mind if my TD pass is dropped or caught. I do mind when the perfectly thrown ball by Warner travels through his hands, and through his midsection and drops incomplete behind him. I thought I was through having to deal with that sort of stuff when I left Colecovision Football.
