I'm a PS3 owner--can you still tell the difference between the NY/DAL demo and the Madden 2009 speed? I played the 5 minute PITT/ARI demo, and the slowed down gameplay is nice, but I think it may be a bit too slow. Really interested to see the difference between 9% (slow, offline default) and 5% (normal, online default).

Well I have said that I find the demo is extremely fun. The are some moments in the game where I say to myself damn this game is unreal.
With that being said some of the things that bring me back to my living room per say they are not many but do damper the experience nonetheless.
First the over the shoulder catching is done poorly. I hope its not in the final build in the state it is in right now. The WR never really looks at the ball and the WR also looks like he is about to break his back while making that catch. LOL It also happens too often.
Second I hope that the dev's can tune the WR/DB interactions some more especially while the ball is in the air. They look wayyy better than last year but still are not very believable like some of the other aspects of the game.
Third the cut scenes are wonderful, but don't flow as good as they could. I also hope this is cleaned up before release.
I do like this game though and cannot wait until my Chises(plural) get started. Wo0t!!

I noticed a minor error during the national anthem cutscene. There are Cardinals players standing in front of the Steelers sideline. Watch it closely next time if you haven't seen it yet. It's pretty funny.New Jersey Devils- 1995, 2000, 2003
New York Giants- 1927, 1934, 1938, 1956, 1986, 1990, 2007.

Well that's how it's supposed to play on rookie... cuz that's how rookies play.Wow.. This is sad.. Seriously.
I don't care if it's in Kids mode, this shouldn't even happen.. This looks & plays too much like madden 09 imo. Horrible AI, RC, Stiff running animations, Oline is overpowering, Serious oline Suction, the QB has has all day to throw??! So the DEV's try to make the oline/dline look pretty by having them create a pocket, but forget about having the Dline disengage blocks?? All these things are serious issues, and they still exist. Wow.. Makes you wonder about the madden dev's..
Mo' Official than ever before.

haha seriously, everyone thinks this game is only played by diehard gamers age 17-35. Kids play this game too so on rookie it should play that way so a kid or anyone can pick the game up right away and be able to have success. Sure its easy for us, we know all the controls, exploits, money plays, etc so thats why we should be playing on All Madden or All Pro. Rookie is not designed for us.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Alright guys, here is another breakdown from me. I've also got a video coming up about what I think of Pro Tak at this point.
Positives
QB's feel like the they should.
The more frustated they get the worse they perform.
Pro Tak is not all that Pro Wak like I said before.
The running game is pretty good. You really have to work for a run. It's not going to come easy.
I feel like I played to very realistic simulation games.
I like the tackle animations.
The hit stick seems to work pretty well when you get used to it.
Stiff arming has to be timed perfectly, like in a real game.
Negatives
The demo lacks substance and does not represent the full game, which may turn some people off.
They should have had the pregame sessions last longer.
Half-time needs some real depth.
Post game after the superbowl needs some serious attention.
Sometimes my missed assignments are DB's just standing in the middle of "wtf world" and he doesn't cover his man or any man at all. I had 2 defenders standing there looking at each other for about 5 seconds.
Now, the question is, will I be picking this game up on release day? 50/50
The other question; which console will I get it for? Most likely the PS3, since my 360 scares me to death with the whole RRoD bit.Comment

Dont ask me why but my quote bubble doesn't show lol but anyway I agree it's not all for the hardcore sports gamers like myself but please no more dumbing my football down with "Do Overs" you dont get do overs even if you are a rookie you get cut so hopefully that rewind play B.S. is off it's a pain remembering to turn that off EVERY GAME!!!!!!!Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
1. I've had multiple times where I had an open man, got hit AFTER the ball has left my hand, and throw a duck up, same goes for CPUAren't you the one throwing a present up? I admit, it takes some getting used to, especially whenever a game DOES become more sim (or realistic). But, maybe you should stop trying to force passes, and get better at avoiding sacks. Unless you're talking about the CPU QB also.
And this way of thinking is just horrible. You wouldn't be alone if you decide not to buy the game. And maybe enough people feel like you to send EA a message. A boycott starts with one person, anyway. And it shouldn't matter how many copies it might sell. Do what is best for you.
2. Thats the way it is my friend. Don't like it? Neither do I. EA has a monopoly, no doubt. I(like many other people) will buy Madden every year no matter what just because I love the NFL that much. There is absolutely no way to boycott EA now. Let say we all get together and do it, at the very very most they lose lets say..... 500,000 sales. They'll still profit with an unbelievable profit and all will be good. The only way to truly boycott is to got AT LEAST a million people to join, a number we simply can't reach right now.
And to everyone saying you can get pressure, three questions. What demo are you playing on, what skill level, and are you user rushing?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
ok after getting the demo yesterday and already playing about 5 games i must say.... its pretty impressive the presentation the graphics the player models look very nice. the game really kinda feels like nfl2k5 for me. the thing that is sad tho is that ea took this long to catch up but it seems like they finally did. i have it for the ps3 verison and i am happy with it.
theres a couple of things i needed to get use to like the game pace was really slow at first but now i am good with it.
EA you need to fix blitzing on D it doesnt work 95 percent of the time not even a slight pressure.
i finally feel like i am getting a game worth 60$ from ea sports this year.
cant wait for the real game.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
I just got done playing the Cowboys/Giants demo. The game ended in a tie at 0 to 0.
The run blocking is much improved from the Superbowl demo but that's not saying a lot. Sometimes OL doesn't attempt to block the player closest to them right in front of them. If I wanted a lineman to block someone other than the person in front of them, I should be able to control the lineman to do so. Players still catch passes without actually looking for the ball. What ever happened to procedural awareness?
The morph/suction tackles comes directly from the pro-tak. Seems to me that the pro-tak made more problems rather than improving.
I've just about had it with the super 180 turns. The branching out from gang tackling ignores the momentum and leads to unrealistic animations.
Did I mention the procedural awareness? I just had a DB swat the ball. The ball was directly over his head. DB isn't aware of it but slides to where he's in position to make the interception. What was with all of the examples of a virtual person looking at flashing balls?
Some thing I did like, Eli and other players slipping in the snow. The wind playing a factor in kicking and the presentation.
Overall, better but not good enough. Madden is like the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, no matter how much you try to improve it, it's still old, broken, slowly deteriorating, and doesn't meet the standards

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Played a few games of the 5 minute quarter demo....pretty good imo. I only really had one complaint and that was one of the tackle animations. I was returning a kickoff and was hit pretty hard...starting falling back but hit up on the truck stick..highlight stick..whatever you want to call it..and the ball carrier which was me..went from nearly falling on his back to standing straight up and trucking the person tackling me. It only happened once but I happened to catch it. Other than that not much gripe...except the lack of d-line pressure but im not sure if the demo is after the problem was found or before with getting pressure. The game speed was weird at first but its kind of grew on me.Comment

It's a demo, slick. They cut out the half time and post game stuff. It's supposed to be a taste of the game.Comment
