Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

Just won a game on a Hail Mary with the Steelers. Threw it up, the ball was batted and Holmes came up with it.

    Pretty fun to watch.

BTW...I know someone else said they've seen it happen, but I have yet to see the cpu punt the ball to the coffin corner. They always punt the ball down the middle of the field and unless they get a lucky bounce, it ends up a touchback. (PS3/All Madden if it makes a difference)

Also, the missed field goal returns seem to be a guaranteed TD return each time. I'm 3 for 3 thus far and the kicking team seems oblivious to the fact that I'm returning the missed attempt and don't really pursue the ball carrier until I reach the kicker.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Also, I think we can both agree that the graphics are MUCH sharper in the Dal/NY demo but I think that may be because they are both 1 GB demos and the DAL/NY demo is 16 minutes shorter. What do you think about the gamespeed between the demos? I think the Pitt/Ari is on slow (default offline speed for Madden 10) and the NY/Dal demo is on normal speed (On-line default speed) IMHO I like the speed of the NY/Dal demo better.
I don't necessarily disagree. You may have a better eye for those things than I do. I do think the game speed in PITT/ARZ is slower than normal, but I still like it for some reason right now. I'm able to notice my receivers getting open which has never happened for me in the past few maddens. I will play the DAL/NYG demo a little more to see if I notice the things you said.

Gameplay is way too slow for me. I honestly don't understand how slowing a football game down makes it more realistic. This is just my opinion but the demo saved me $65.00

But there will be game speed options in the retail version or so I have heard.

Probably not many speedy guys on the offense's kicking team either. No way a long snapper is going to catch Devin Hester or Antonio Cromartie. I still remember watching Hester blow by all of the Giants' special teams guys when he returned a missed FG for a TD in '06. And the kicker is weak (relatively speaking), so he probably wouldn't be able to make the tackle unless he got lucky.

I definitely agree with the things that he is saying. Like I said, some of the broken tackles that I have seen look too unrealistic and it seems to easy to break from them, now as far as the whole Casey Hampton "tackle" in the video I can only say that that was poor tackling technique shown in that video and is very reasonable to see Wells break it. A lot of the other tackles attempt on a player I simply see my players simply "slip off" from the player as if they were "buttered up" or something.

One big thing I like about the demo is this; it seems like you can actually catch LB's who make INT's and run them down to make the tackle. In past Maddens, a LB would pick off the ball, and even those with average speed would turn into Carl Lewis, blow by everyone and score a TD. It seems more realistic this year. I threw a pick to Farrior who started running down the field, but I was able to run him down with Boldin, which is how it should be.

Does anyone else think of Pirates of the Caribbean every time the demo orchestral song plays on the demo?

I'm not saying this to be mean, but I think that Apex dude has OCD and has locked in on Madden right now. I hope someone can help him break his pattern and pull him away from all things Madden.

Besides that, there really is only one bottom line: will you enjoy the game or not. Every game can have nitpicking, heck every real NFL game has plenty of mistakes. If the game is as good as or better than the demo I know I will enjoy. Last year I didn't enjoy it so I sold it on Ebay and moved on with my life.

Commenting on the video a few posts above. Casey Hampton is off balance and falling down and I have no issue with Beanie breaking that tackle. Completely realistic. Take just about any running play in an real NFL game and slow it down and watch the guys who miss, why they miss and I think you would see somthing very similar.

What I do have a problem with is the fullback, sliding through the defender and joining the scrum as a blocker, That was weak and the video slow down version was very helpful to see that in slow motion happening.

i agree with you man.You dont leave your feet to tackle. that is the cardinal rule. that is why the arm tackle by Hampton failed. as far as the rest of the run, Wells still had his momentum going forward.

as far as the morphing, i have not seen it or it has been really minimal. it still is a video game and this stuff will be present.

Gideon can make some good points , but at times he is really stretching it to point out nonsense. that demo is an early build. i have not seen this in the dall/ giants demo

                            Spongedaddy;

I hear what you are saying.

I just discovered something about this impression thread.

The people who are enjoying the demo are playing it and not posting much in here. The people who find a few flaws in one game are either posting videos of such or listing over and over their list of complaints.

I'm not saying everyone that is listing complaints is doing this, just a pattern I noticed with some.

                            Back to the demo.
