I'd have to agree with this one.

Jim Sorgi, Peyton Manning's backup. Peyton never gets hurt and Sorgi gets a great salary to stand there with a clipboard.

Haha, good call. As a Wisconsin Badgers (Sorgi's alma mater) fan, I'm amazed he's stuck around the league for this long.

Maybe a trainer at a professional level has it easy, but college trainers have work to do.

And he's got a ring. Don't get me wrong; he still has to know the playbook and be ready at a moment's notice because anyone can get hurt, but has he ever played in a meaningful game? He only gets in when the Colts have clinched everything and are playing out the string at the end of the regular season.

              Exactly.

Everyone who backed up Brett Favre was under similar circumstances, although quite a few of his backups were more talented than Sorgi and ended up landing starting jobs for other teams with varying degrees of success (Brunell, Detmer, Hasselbeck, Brooks, etc.).

Prior to last year, I would say Martin Broduer's back up. Seriously, Marty was usually penciled in to have 75 or so starts, so you get thrown a ton of money to play maybe 7 games tops, and if you won two of them you had a good year.

I don't know, that can be stressful to be honest, eventhough you are only called on the field for a couple plays, it all starts with you, if you don't snap a decent ball, it can lead to the ball behind the punter, a bobbled hold on a field goal or XP.

Long snapping seems like it would come second nature after repping it your entire life. I can't even remember the last time I've seen a terribly botched snap at the collegiate or NFL level. It's not like long snappers are asked to make different kinds of snaps, unlike punters who are asked to punt the ball at different angles and hights.

I've seen numerous snaps that go too low and skid to the holder, or ones that fly too high and it's a struggle for the holder to grab and hold down.
