The reason I ask is that I played the Gamestop demo and is very impressed with it. I read that they have already started on Madden 11. I just don't want all their work on the next game to go to waste, considering what an improvement this years version is.

An Interesting Topic Nobody has Thought of
With the lockout looming next season, do you think Ian and Co. have thought about that any? I mean, whats the point of Madden if there isn't any football on? Can you imagine.......no roster updates, no rating changes, absolutely nothing.

Well when they had the strike season in the NHL both companies still made games, so I don't see why they wouldn't make it. Honestly it may even make it easier to focus on gameplay for that year.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: An Interesting Topic Nobody has Thought of
umm do you think they will put out another madden if a lockout happened? Well maybe the higher up people(executives) might tell them too, to see how much money they can get off it. But who would buy a game where know no was a FA meaning same players on the same teams etc.
If I was on the team I would take that off time to continue to improve the game so we can have a two year worked on game(guessing the strike would holdout the whole nfl season)Comment

Collective Bargaining Agreement. It's the deal between the NFL and the NFLPA. Handles stuff like minimum salaries, Salray Cap and ceratian aspects of Free Agency. It also causes strikes at times (94 World Series cancellation, 98-99 NBA season, 04-05 NHL season come to mind) when deals cannot be reached between the two sides.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

That will cause the lockout. Theoretically, they will not have to pay a veteran backup if they can find a rookie/garbage player and pay them alot less money, since the minimum salary is not in effect.
Uncapped year always sounds like it helps the players, but in all reality, it doesn't.
Ask all the veterans how much they need the CBA, considering how many years you play in the NFL will help boost the minimum salary for them. Why play if youre not getting your due>?Last edited by hatisback; 07-26-2009, 12:21 AM.Comment

Re: An Interesting Topic Nobody has Thought of
I'm sure they'd release the game anyway -- by the time they know, they've already spent the money working on it.
Wouldn't it be nice though if they KNEW there was no football in 2011 and got to spend two solid years on madden 12 rather than their normal shortened production cycle?Comment

^Right. They'll figure it out. There's not going to be a lockout. Everyone stands to lose too much. If nothing else, the other corporate sponsors will push the NFL to reach an agreement.Comment
