Anyone Else Worried? (About Lack of Pass Rush)

I just don't see any pressure from the front 4. You see more on the CPU side, but virtually zero on the human side. It's a shame because I really love what Ian and Co. have done to this game (presentation and fluidity of animations), but this is a glaring oversight because the pressure in the pocket to make quick decisions is what football is all about.

I know there is sliders, but from what I heard that didn't really improve the issue with the pass rush in NCAA.

What I'm wondering is if we tweak sliders for the pass rush will it make the ends more aggressive or will it just make the O-Line do stupid things and just let the ends through.

    Anyone else worried about this?

Nope since I have no issues getting pass rush. Don't hold turbo and use the right stick and you will be fine. I am averaging 2-3 sacks per game in the 5 minute quarter demo regardless which team I use on all madden.

I'm talking about with the computer controlling the line on defense for me. I don't like to play D-line.

Well got a few sacks out of all the dozens games I have played on the demo so far. But thoses sacks came from the guy I controlled. But it seems that the other front for guys the AI control for you don't seem to be getting any pass rush what so ever. I want to see more push from the AI controlled guys up front on my side of the D. I agree with this guy who made this topic. There is a lack of pass rush for getting sacks. The AI controlled guys on my defense front four should be getting pressure like I am trying to do. I should not have to take control of a guy just to get some kind of pass rush. That seems all to unfair.

I am sorry I haven't been seeing that in any of the games I have played. I have gotten consistent pressure. Keep in mind that these were the two best teams in football, and if you are playing the Raiders (my favorite team) oline I am sure the CPU will have no problem getting to Russell.

I think in general your AI teammates need to be more aggressive. That's my biggest problem with the game. I've seen some beautiful plays made by my teammates, but it's just to inconsistent. Especially when compared to how the cpu plays.

Thank you bro. That is what I am trying to get across to people. I can control like the DT and get decent pressure. But when it comes to the AI controlling my other 3 guys up front. The AI never seems to show any signs of getting pressure accept when the AI defense is on the field. Complete hog wash to me.

I think we need to see a solid D-Line vs. a weak O-Line.

Like, let's see a video of the Pittsburg Steelers D-Line vs. the Detroit Lions O-Line.

If the Lions O-Line is keeping the Steelers away from the QB, then yes, there's a problem. The Steelers D-Line should be manhandling the Lions O-Line.

I have not played much of the demo as I am playing NCAA right now but I am definitely worried about getting sacks. I think with sliders the rush will be there but if NCAA is any indication the sacks may not. With slider adjustments on NCAA I get a lot of pressure but the QB always gets rid of it, a flashback to Madden 09 robo QB.

IMO, EA has always been horrendous when it comes to sliders and I do not expect anything different this year.

I have noticed it is difficult to get sacks in the demo, meanwhile the CPU has no problems. I not worried about it however, I'm fairly sure I can get to where I want it with the help of some slider magic.

Players with ratings like James Harrison should be way more nasty IMO... He should blow through dang near every LT who isn't elite if matched up 1 on 1.

Qb's should have to slide protection/Keep TEs Rbs in to keep players of that Caliber off of them

The sliders in NCAA work fine for me. When I set my pass rush to 100 and their pass blocking to 0, I get about 3-5 sacks a game. To fight Robo QB I set my pass coverage high and their QB accuracy and WR catching low. With those settings I get a lot of hurries, some sacks, and a decent amount of incompletions. And most of the sacks are by my DL that I don't control.

I guess my point is if the Madden sliders are anything like NCAA's, the pass rush should be fine.
