Oh baa, what are we going to do with you. You honestly think that we won't see actual gameplay before release?

Oh yeah, of course. And maybe they put this splash trailer together as a kind of general promo for multiple outlets. 2K no doubt has marketing/budget considerations of that sort.

I never get why people go out of their way to blast 2k hockey. If 2k hockey goes away, EA hockey will never see any more improvements. Sports games with no competition are usually mediocre... at best.

I haven't bought a baseball game in many years, and I stay clear of football now as well.

Of course people shouldn't support 2k hockey just "because", but maybe people could give it a fair shot, as they could significantly improve this year.

EA has a history of not improving without competition (see madden the last 4 years). I don't agree about baseball, I love the choices we have now and never thought MVP was that good. But you make a great point.

That might be true. I like what they did with the trailer and they explained how that goal WOULD NOT be the norm. I for one like how they promo their games. I like the fact that they wait closer to the release date to put out videos etc. I hope they keep it that way. EA markets 2 months ahead and very well but most of the time their games are mediocre IMHO.

Back in the good old days we'd wait 2-3 years between sports titles, and only find out a new version had been released when we happened to see it sitting on the shelf in the PC store. So yeah, I know what you mean.

LOL, that is so true. I didn't think of that. Proves we are living in good times now when it comes to video games. Between OS and all of the gaming sites IGN, etc. we get all the info we need and more.

I don't think anyone is debating that competition is good. I disagree about Madden improving though, have you seen Madden 10? Looks pretty improved to me, and thats without competition. Alot of people really liked the last MVP, what that even has to do with 2k's downright craptastic marketing I don't know.

Realm, one day your cool, the next day your tearing 2k hockey a new one. So hard to figure you out. I agree this year madden is looking really good and I will be purchasing day one. I remember MVP's popularity, it just never did anything for me.

Also, you want to know why people bash 2k. It's because a lot of us were loyal 2k buyers until the franchise decided to turn its back on the fanbase and what made it popular in the first place. Instead the company went for the "party mode" atmosphere and failed miserably.

And yet they say they want to get back to their true sim roots and you still hate on them. I guess after you guys play this game you can then go back to other game and then this forum will be quiet again. Until next year when the same guys come back and hate on the game.

I disagree. I think last year was a major step up from the previous versions. I don't really see what a lot of you saw from 2k3 to 2k6. It may have been more sim but the game had no personality, no atmosphere, nothing to draw you in. It was quite boring to say the least. It's funny EA went bye bye for about 3 years putting out some horrendous hockey games a few years ago and now all is forgiven. VC just took over last year and is doing a nice job to turn the series around but there is no patience, no wait and see approach. Oh well at least there is something for everyone.

Nothing will get them back because IMHO I don't think they want to like the game. I'm far from an EA fan, but I don't go to that forum, ripping and bashing at any and all info about that game. There is an agenda here folks and that's all there is to it.

Will if that is the case then just go away and find a new game. If you hate 2k that much then never never buy another game from them. You are a like a girl that is still hurting over her Ex's dumping her for another woman. It is time to let it go and move on!

Any ways that is cool. I still like what I seen in that trailer. The skating looked smooth the celebration didn't have that herky jerky motion either.

Well then I say since you have finally found nirvana in EA hockey, why not give up on 2k hockey once and for all. Some of you have been here for 3 years, 3 YEARS, bashing and rehashing away the same old thing. When will you realize that this game just isn't for you. I'm not saying that to bash anyone but it's obviously true. I can't imagine spending 3 years in a forum for a game that you hate so much (2k hockey) when there is another game that you like so much(EA hockey). Give up this maddening Idea of "I want it to be good". Most of you wouldn't buy two games anyway. If EA hockey is the end all be all of hockey then why would anything that 2k does matter to you. I like 2k baseball and I have made about 10 comments this year in the show forums. I guess it's a mature of maturity.
