Franchise mode sounds good this year, but the one thing I'm disappointed about is that you can't edit ratings in franchise mode. I was really hoping they would put it in this year.

Re: Madden NFL 10: Franchise Mode Preview
Steve,
Question about the options you listed for Online Franchise. Does the commish have an option to sim games or something that can be done if say a game isnt played so that the rest of the league doesnt get held up?Comment

It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Re: Madden NFL 10: Franchise Mode Preview
Thanks for the detailed write-up, much appreciated! However it sounds like offline franchise mode will be more of the same old, same old this year? Sounds like the new presentation stuff is nice, but really not game changing.
As far as franchise options they all look exactly the same as previous years ... still can't change/edit ratings or physical features (height/weight), and still can't change/edit coach names (i.e. install yourself as the new head coach). Hopefully the draft and trade logic is dramatically improved, and gameplay is substantially improved, otherwise this really sounds exactly like previous years franchise mode?
I've got the game pre-ordered and I'm sure I'll enjoy it for what it is, but at least where franchise mode is concerned, I see no significant improvements based on this write-up ... hopefully I'm wrong, because I have no interest in online. Guess we'll all see in a couple weeks!Comment

Well except signing logic for free-agents, and presentation stuff (dont care) sounds like `04 to me. Was really hoping for something more.Originally posted by Alexis de TocquevilleThe America Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10: Franchise Mode Preview
2 things that stuck out to me..
QB Completion % is fixedIn fact all the QB stats looked nice.
The other may be a worry or just a coincidence..
The top 5 sackers, none had .5 sacks, are half sacks still in the game or...?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10: Franchise Mode Preview
Good point on QB% ... those number did look much better! Actually I'd have to say all of the stats looked pretty damn good to me overall. Stats wise I think franchise mode will definitely be improved this year ... I just hope gameplay is as well!
Several things still missing that I assumed we would have back for M10 (in-game saves, more editing (player & coach), but I'm still looking forward to playing some football!!!Comment
