I've really enjoyed your Madden write ups, they are very helpful.

I generally play 8 minute quarters and like to have about 65 offense plays per game. I noticed there is an accelerated clock option and was curious if you can post any information on how many minute quarters you play (or simulate with) and about how many offensive plays you average with those settings? Also, what accelerated clock option you are using with them.

Why is everyone complaining about not being able to edit players ratings in franchise mode? If you could do that nobody would care what rating their rookie was, they would just make it go higher to where they wanted it to be, progression would be pointless because you could make all your players better.


You shouldn't be able to edit ratings once your in a franchise, do it before it starts, that's good enough.


Though I'm still very interested in seeing how some of the rookies and/or players progress after a year, and the stats they had which made them go up however many points.

Chase, an editor from this very site, wrote in his E3 blog that you CAN edit player ratings Within franchise mode. Go to the E3 forum and look it up. He wrote it in his review of Madden 10 when he was there. I mean, he's an editor on this site so shouldn't I believe what he tells me?

The only miscommunication I can see is if when he says 'Within' Franchise Mode, he just means 'In' Franchise Mode. But when he says 'Within' Franchise Mode, it can lead people to believe that he is talking about after you already started your franchise.

This is pure bull crap that EA won't put this in there. Why not allow us to edit our franchise as we see fit? This is especially disappointing because it would be nice to be able to edit the draft picks since I really do not trust the game to import the draft classes appropriately. Every year I get excited about this game and every year I get let down.

Steve, can you edit all Teams player's uniforms and such AFTER starting the Franchise or do you have to edit within Rosters and then load the edited Roster before beginning a new Franchise?

Typically, I've had to edit players across the league within Roster and then load that Roster to use in my new Franchise? I'm hoping I'll be able to edit any player on any team at any time during Franchise??

Steve confirmed there is no editing once franchise starts (other that equipment) and you CANNOT edit any other team other than your own (re: equipment). Funny i remember reading about Ian loving customization a few months back...???

well this really hurts my hope for madden being good. They didn't change franchise AT ALL!!! this is the same franchise as all the other next gen games. 4 years, and all we get is the extra point. How about some new dynamic to it, so im not just playing games for 19 weeks or 20 weeks, then have a 1-2 hour offseason, then over again. I loved the owner mode on the old ps2 games. The drills were 9,000,000,000,000,000,000,000xxx times better. you have to cheat on these. I really hope they changed them. they were terrible. especially the 40-yd dash. my friend actually found out that height affects the 40 on 09!!! what? umm, EA that is already programmed into spee, and acceleration. and thats another thing, why can i improve speed, and not acceleration? i really hope that they changed/ fixed the drills.

here is the reason that you should be able to edit attributes during franchies

ITS EA, and ITS MADDEN.
something will be screwed up, be it progression or draft import.
last year beanie wells was the best HB in NCAA and imported him, to be a 2nd or 3rd rounder. then in another he was a 1st. every player changed on a different import of the SAME roster file. Progression last year was also terrible, and ppl like calvin johnson would lost points. plus you didnt even see the changes unless in depth charts or if you go into edit a player then save changes. otherwise the team roster had false ratings!!! i really doubt EA will fix any of this. they will just keep making the graphics good, and add pointless features that never work. and as far as people jacking up ratings in chise, umm they could just do that from main menu. and nobody is going to do that, and who the hell cares if some newb makes his rookie 99....oh thats another thing. when you import draft classes last year, i had players coming in at 97+ and have had multiple 99 overalls. this is without editing the NCAA rosters. and i'd have about 10 rookies over 90, or more. see people think madden is this great game, but it ****ing blows, and it pisses me off when ppl think or say that.

Well for your first point that's already been fixed, and confirmed, lots of people had that problem last year. They already have a thread up with an imported draft class from NCAA.


And for your 2nd point, you don't have to buy Madden, no one is making you buy it, so just don't get it ok? Your even worse because your the type of person who bitches and moans about a game every year then runs to go get it the first Tuesday it comes out.


If it sucks don't buy it dude.
