Re: NBA 2K10: Draft Combine First Look (IGN)
This. Thanks for saving me some typing strokes.Like kcxiv said, what you find fun isn't what everyone finds fun. I'm an offline gamer because I think too many people ruin the online experience and turn it into an immature, alpha-male defense mechanism. Yes, this may be a bad stereotype for online gamers out there, but my online sports gaming experience has always centered around gamers who I'd never let play beside me on my own couch. Yes, I'm aware of the numerous gamers who don't exploit or cheese and I've played with them numerous times (most notably in Forza 2) but I enjoy offline gaming more since I find the AI gives me a much better experience than the gamers I play online. Is it "because I suck"? That's neither here nor there, honestly, and it's an immature and shallow response to begin with. I play offline because I prefer playing offline and because I think the online experience is a mixed bag, and I'm sure many gamers here on OS agree.
Now, as for 2K10's Draft Combine, I'm not that impressed...it's a trial download at this point until something really piques my interest.
*Sigh* I was hoping that all these inane newcomers would be confined to the Madden/NCAA forums, but I guess that would be too much to ask for. Outgrow Offline modes... RidiculousJordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: NBA 2K10: Draft Combine First Look (IGN)
So you are saying you are 18? Good for you. This is an excellent addition to the game if you are a franchise kiddie.
I really don't understand though, if you are over the age of 17 you should've outgrown offline modes by now.
Offline modes take away from the actual sport and the spirit of competition. Offline modes also take away from the actual game. Developers could add more realistic gameplay if they took the kiddie stuff out of the game.
Online is where the competition is. Online is where your skills are truly tested.
The Game is basketball, Basketball is a sport, you play a sport against competition, competition is online....bottom line.
You want some sort of league play....join an online league..bottom line.
But for the kiddies this is an excellent mode. I am sure they will have fun with it.
Good Job 2K!

Re: NBA 2K10: Draft Combine First Look (IGN)
I don't care what anybody says, the player models are solid. I've always thought that all they needed to do this year was to tweak the gameplay and give the game more long term playability. My second thought looks like it's granted and I'm sure they'll have something good for us in the gameplay department.
Also, judging from the screenshots, looks like off hand dribbling and ball security are two new attributes?Last edited by nosaints26; 08-03-2009, 08:18 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K10: Draft Combine First Look (IGN)
I think it's a good thing it's not included on the disc that just takes up more space. You always hear EA and such talking about how something wasn't included or how something was left out or cut due to space limitations. With this not being on the disc it gives more space. Which is why I'm fine with all the outside downloads, in the end it just gives more. Besides in the EA games you have a option of starting in college to determine your space in the draft which is also a separate purchase.Comment

This game mode will be on the disk as well.

Re: NBA 2K10: Draft Combine First Look (IGN)
What I think about the place in the draft is he's placed there based on his performance during the drills and not his overall rating. Off of that assumption then his place is fine.Comment

Re: NBA 2K10: Draft Combine First Look (IGN)
It would be against Xbox Live policy if this DLC was included on the disk aswell. That effectively makes us pay for the same thing twice. So I don't think draft combine with the drills and 6 games will be included with the game. But we know that Career Mode will be. Just not this exact mode. Atleast that's what I think. I for one would hate to pay for the exact same content twice.Comment

Re: NBA 2K10: Draft Combine First Look (IGN)
I don't think anyone's posted this but when the player draft screen comes up you notice his rating is a 39 and
1/6 games have been completed.
Fail for not noticing that.
If you did notice but didn't feel like typing it or this has already come up then I apologize. If I was wrong you have the right to qoute me and make me eat my words. And in the process make me feel like an idiot. To an extent lol.Comment
