You can`t be taken seriously when you begin an article like this, especially when you dont even bother to back it up. The game has been a critical (metacritic of 85), popular (see daily users online) *and* commercial (see NPD sales) success. Elitist pricks on forums will always complain that the game is sub-par. But hey, people love to think they game development better than game developpers, just like they think they know coaching better than the coaches, and team management better than the managers.
Youre joking right?! Ian Cummings had done a great job trying to get things back on track, but the Ortiz led team before him tried to strip the game down as much as possible....and see what people actually noticed was gone. No excuse for the absolute JOKE that was Madden 06 and 07 on ng....08 was a step forward but still pretty bad....and 09 was pretty good besides the RC and FB dive.

I realize the game has gotten OK reviews the past few years, but most of those scores come from casual players who dont appreciate the little things like the hardcore audience does.

Anyway, Im glad you guys like my article and more will come.

So a minority of self-titling "hardcores" qualify for "nearly universal" ? Oh I get it, you meant universal among people who agree with you! Well duh.

I just can't stand people who accuse developers of laziness when these guys are spending every summer indoors, away from friends and family, working (probably unpaid) overtime evening and weekends to deliver the game on time.

Are you serous? EA has fixed hardly anything over the last few years. And lol at the Devolpers living a grueling life. sure they probably put lots of hours in, probably more than me, probably more than you. But I highly doubt Ian is getting paid to sit on his computer and read things on OS, our tweet. And if he is, get to work Ian, no wonder why Madden has been such a let down lately.

YOu know what would really make madden THE GAME TO OWN?? Authenticity to EVERY single player in the NFL. LIke RAndy Moss's long stride runing style, shawne merriman's light's out dance after he gets a sack, and stuff like that not just presentation animations at the begining
