I don't use sliders, but wouldn't "pass coverage" mean how well the CPU defensive backs cover your WRs? I would think you'd want to look for "pass blocking" or something like that.

At any rate, are you controlling the DEs, or using some particular line shift to get all these sacks? I have never had a problem with too many sacks by my DEs on either Heisman or AA.

        Re: Sack Problem

I came in here thinking this was a question about having problems in the sack, to which I was going to suggest drinking heavily before.

With that said, I need advice on getting sacks. I never get TOO many, but not enough.

buy a crown, you are the king.

maybe adjust "pass blocking" & "pass rush" instead.

First, is this because you're manually controlling the DE, or blitzing alot? I know AI should adjust and deal but it doesn't always. If it's because of your manual pressure, stop the manual work and control another player defending the pass.

You might also try other levels thann Heisman, I know you'd think that level would be toughest to get a sack on but not 100% sure.

              Re: Sack Problem

I was having the exact opposite problem as I went four games without a single sack. I found that by having your pass rush at 95 or 100 and CPU pass block at 0 you create CPU Robo QBs, especially if you blitz a lot which I was doing. The CPU QBs would rush every throw no matter what, they would never take a sack.

I changed my pass rush to 60 and have CPU pass block at 10. Last night I had eight sacks in one game and four in another, too many from my LE but that is another issue. I would say over half my sacks came from a three man rush. I typically control a safety.

I think the harder you press to get sacks, blitzing constantly, sliders to 100 and 0, the more the CPU reacts to it by throwing too fast.

CPU Pass coverage also controls your guys who are CPU controlled, so they are playing amazing defense behind you. That's your problem.

No you are wrong. Thats why they have USER. If it was only for you controlling a player how would that work? Doenst make sense

That's how it was on 09. I was experimenting and trying to be cheap to get the 5 pics with one guy and I turned User Pick to 100. Did nothing for my CPU guys, so I turned that up, and they started picking them. I doubt they changed that since they didn't do crap for sliders when the game came out.

I always thought that User means the USER team, not just the one player the user is controlling.

a good tip if you guys are having problems getting sacks is control your LE. and then before the snap make ur DL rush out. it might leave a hole in the middle but ur LB should take care of that. i run a 4-3 Defense and i never blitz.

                          Re: Sack Problem

I have a couple tips on getting sacks. I play on AA level and never control the D-line.

1). I use zone (cover 2 or cover 3) bout 80-85% of the time, controll the middle linebacker and try to take away the middle zone area and let the cpu control my D-line and Cornerback/safty play. I can decent amount of coverage sacks this way.

2). For good zone coverage, also use defensive shifts....LT+Right stick UP when you anticipate pass plays, also shift secondary to the left or right (LT+left stick LEFT or RIGHT) to anticipate passing plays to open side of the field.

3). Since I play about 80-85% zone (no blitz), when I DO blitz once every 7-8 plays, its very effective. i get tons of hurries and blitz sacks here and there. But you can't blitz every other play, the cpu will adjust and throw lighting quick passes to the outside if you blitz every or every other play. you have to catch them surprised.

I too was not getting any sacks when i started playing the game, but now I avg. about 4 per game on AA level and good amounts of hurries. I use Texas Tech by the way, they are not great defensive team, but good coverage and occasional blitz works!

Last year it didn't. This year, I'm not sure. But if you're gonna argue with me on this one when I know for a fact that's how it worked last year, I'm just going to start laughing at you.
