Good score, should be a little higher, i got the retail copy and its a HUGE improvement over 09 in every aspect.

Finally a decent review by IGN. I'm still surprised they overlooked the sheer wonkiness of some of the animations, though.

8.9 means it's a good game, but still not up to par with NFL 2k5 or Madden NFL 05 for that matter.

It's time for a great change of gameplay. IGN even stated that the game didn't feel too different from Madden NFL 09, which had pretty average gameplay.

EA, it's time to make animations 100% fluid and natural looking for Madden NFL 11 as well as to get a grounded gameplay system working.

Too many times we have huge gameplay jumps from one year to the next. It's time to get a working system to build upon (that doesn't consist of inconsistent and odd looking animations).

2K did it, and so can you, just don't neglect people's pleas and try to "Maddenize" everything. Maddenizing got you an 8.9, which is great, but not what you probably expected. It's what you'll have to do to reach the 9.5 category.

.1 higher than madden 09. what does that mean? its mean the same game with a touch up in graphics. i agree with the article, THIS IS THE BEST LOOKING MADDEN but thats where it stops

The AI still runs out of bounds for no reason! WTF Ian? That really pisses me off. I'll wait 'till OS's review before I start tearing my hair out. IGN never puts that extra detail I look for in sports game reviews. I feel like the air has just been pushed outta my sails.

Wow only .1 better than last year. I expected more of a jump considering the subpar game EA put out last year. Dont get me wrong im still pumped for the game though. Hopefully next year they can continue to develop on the Franchise mode and online Franchise mode and Half time and Extra Point Show. If they revamp the running animations and iron out a few kinks this game will make the jump we have all been waiting for.

man i cant trust IGN, they giving madden 9's in gameplay. madden 09 and 10 gameplay part are both 9.0. well its look like another year of "NEXT YEAR" talk

now madden 09 gameplay is horrible but has a 9 so what does that make madden 10 gameplay? horrible as well

In the demo the run blocking is awful and when playing on All pro offensive linemen purposely miss blocks in key situations (3rd and 1) to help the computer beat you. It REALLY sucks.

The score of 7.5 for sound is what hurts it... that dropped it below a 9.

Very fair, very accurate review. I don't look at scores much (different sites use different scales, so hard numbers are only useful when comparing games across the same site), but 8.9 seems ballpark-reasonable, maybe a tad high (keep in mind, I think most '09 and '08 reviews were way too high).

I think most will agree that Madden 10 is better than madden 05 (I don't want to start a 2k vs. madden war).

I guess you are saying that because Madden 05 during it's time was rated higher? If Madden 05 was rated today, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't get as high of a score.

8.9 I will wait untill you all get your say, but I played the retail version today at Gamestop and I really enjoyed it. I only played 1 quarter but, the gameplay was smooth and the game looked awesome.

I think they kill the game because of the commentary more then anything. I know I will be turning it off
