Re: Barry Sanders in M10 ESPN article
My Arena is dedicated to this man....best RB ever in my book for sure! ....Best football player ever to me. I hope his face is acurate with no helmet that would be cool (and a photo, and voice, that would be insane!)
I wish they would show highlight videos of these types of players after a big play. That could add some realism and excitement!
I know this sounds absolutely crazy, but Madden 2010 just sold me. Playing as an acurate barry sanders with zoom camera is a must!!! This guy is the best. I also remember the lions in tecmo super bowl, and they were always my team. Barry sanders on offense, and Jerry ball with the thousand sacks, lol.Last edited by wheelman990; 08-09-2009, 03:16 PM.Comment

Re: Barry Sanders in M10 ESPN article

I dont even know how to respond to such a comment. I guess the only thing to say is get some new perscription glasses.
If you look at the numbers you will see Sanders negative yardage increased heavily towards the last years he played. Which also was the years he had the most positive yards for the biggest average per carry known to man(tied the great jim brown at a carear average of 5.0 per carry!!!) The fact is he perfected his running style and realized some "foul balls" and strike outs" are easily worth some home runs. Specially when the o-line wasnt going to do much to help you.Last edited by wheelman990; 08-09-2009, 03:27 PM.Comment

Re: Barry Sanders in M10 ESPN article
Coincidentally, the two best RBs ever are #1 and #2, respectively, on the all-time negative-yardage list (And no, I'm not referring to Jim Brown).Comment

Re: Barry Sanders in M10 ESPN article
That negative yardage came on first down because everyone knew he was getting the ball. Since you thought you've dropped such a brilliant fact that none of us knew about
i'll give you another one..
Barry Sanders has the highest 2nd down running average of all time at 7.3 ypc.
Their playcalling was absolutely atrocious and one dimensional, there was 8 men in the box, people knew he was going to get the ball, and he still would get the ball 7+ yds from the line of scrimmage on 2nd down.
Bo Jackson is my favorite running back of all time but Barry Sanders without a doubt is the greatest running back of all time. also love the fact he was as humble (retiring when he had the chance to break the record) as he was and never celebrated excessively even on big plays. There will never be another one like Barry...Comment

Re: Barry Sanders in M10 ESPN article
Only one person really had the potential to be better than Barry and that was Bo Jackson. Bo was a monster.
Unfortunately we were not meant to see achieve true greatness.
Barry may have had the most negative yards from scrimmage yet he is still currently #3 on the yards category

I would take those stats any day of the week with negative whatever.I doubted you Roy Williams since you only won with a someone else's team... Now you have proven me wrong.
You have earned my respect.

Re: Barry Sanders in M10 ESPN article
Barry Sanders was great because he would break a huge number of tackles on one play just by juking, cutting, and spinnings as a power back would on an entire drive.
Never again will we see such talent...jWILLComment

Re: Barry Sanders in M10 ESPN article
Greatest ever!
Don't forget that he retired at age 30 with 15,000 career rushing yards. Barry also ran backwards for 1 whole season. He had somewhere around 250-300 carries for negative 1200 or so yards. That's a full season of just losing yards.
He was extremely healthy for a 30 year old RB and could have played another 4 or 5 years. If he played until 35, Barry would have rushed for around 20,000-22000 career yards. He would have dominated the RB records.
What could have been.............?Comment
