A Simmed Lions Franchise Tracking Draft/Progression

Mods, I know you might want to move this...but I hope you wait until the game comes out. For those franchise heads without the game I'm sure they are wanting to get examples of the draft/scouting process as well as progression. We'll follow the Lions through 10 simmed seasons.

    Season One:
Lions go 5-11, finish last in the NFC North
Ernie Sims and Calvin Johnson elected to the Pro Bowl

    Key Lions Stats:

    QB Matthew Stafford: 2,992 yards, 17 TDs, 15 INTs, 59 %, 79.9 RAT, sacked 53 times!

HB Kevin Smith: 752 yards on 271 carries, 1 TD

WR Calvin Johnson: 86 catches, 1230 yards, 13 TDs

TE Brandon Pettigrew: 11 catches, 144 yards, 1TD (was hurt most of the year will be interesting to monitor progression)

FS Louis Delmas: Out all year with an injury...3 tackles

MLB Larry Foote: 117 tackles, 1 sack, 7 TFL

OLB Ernie Sims: 90 tackles, 4 sacks, 10 TFL, 2 INTs

    Dewyane White RE: 7.5 sacks

    Cliff Avril RE: 5 sacks

CB Phillip Buchanon: 9 tackles, 2 interceptions

OLB Julian Peterson: 84 tackles, 8 sacks, 18 TFL, 2 INTs

    Around the league:

    MVP
    Peyton Manning: 4,503 yards, 40 TDs, 8 INTs, 66% completion, 107.5 Rating

    Offensive POTY

    Peyton Manning

    Defensive POTY
Jerod Mayo: 138 tackles, 6 sacks, 3 interceptions

    Offensive Rookie
Graham Harrell: 2,458 yards, 18 TDs, 6 INTs, 58% completion percentage, 89.6 rating

    Defensive Rookie
    Brian Cushing: 60 tack, 4 sacks, 2 interceptions, 1 FF, 1 FR

Next up: Progression and then the draft! Stay tuned!

Re: A Simmed Lions Franchise Tracking Draft/Progression

By the way, the Titans beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl

Progression After Year 1(see stats above for reference)

    Here are some notables:

-Pettigrew and Delmas still progressed a lot, even though they were both hurt almost the entire year. Pettigrew up 6, Delmas up 4.

-Calvin Johson improved 6 points after a Pro Bowl Season

-Ernie Sims progressed only 1 point after a Pro Bowl Season

-Kevin Smith progressed 6 points after a poor season

-Gosder Cherilus had a great season at RT, and as a result progressed 6 points

-Larry Foote had a nice season but he only progressed 1 point, mostly due to his age I believe

-Dewayne White had an average year at RE, and didn't progress at all

-Stafford went up 5 after a solid first year

    -My center Raiola decreased 2

-RG Peterman stayed the same after giving up 17 sacks

-LT Backus stayed the same after giving up 12 sacks

-CB Anthony Henry went down 1 point after a terrible season...and he's old

-RE Cliff Avril went up 5 after a good season as a back up

-Maurice Morris dropped 2 points after a terrible year

-Daunte dropped 3...didnt get much action

-Chuck Darby dropped 6 points. Old.

-3rd stringer Drew Stanton increased 5 points to a 52 OVR

My thoughts: I was pretty upset that Pettigrew and Delmas still progressed so quickly after injured seasons. Also, my OLine should have taken MUCH more of a beating in terms of ratings. None of them are too old but still, 53 sacks given up and a terrible running attack. What gives?

    Quick note on retirements:

-My kicker Hanson retired at age 40.

-My 4th string running back Cason retired at age 31. Didn't see a carry all season.

Other notables around the league that retired: Matt Stover, Zach Thomas, Bobby Engram, Derrick Brooks, Rodney Harrison, Isaac Bruce, Walt Harris, Jeff Feagles, Marvin Harrison, Mushin Muhammed, Joey Galloway, Teddy Bruschi, Kevin Faulk, Jeff Garcia, Lorenzo Neal, Warrick Dunn

Im suprised Ernie only went up 1 point after a Pro Bowl year, not a big deal tho. Im also suprised Harrell actually won ROY, who did he sign with in your Franchise? And i hope mods dont lock this, this is good info and i appreciate it.

Nice information. I have the game but haven't started my Fran yet.

I like the states you posted, besides the Philip Buc, only 9 tackles? Did he get hurt?
Didn't like the digression to much either, your right your line should have taken a HIT!

Sims has A potential as well. Odd...

Just a quick update on free agency. I am trying to turn this team around so I made a bit of a splash. Didn't see many high profile guys released, Sproles was the best.

Signed DT Mike Patterson (78), CB Fabian Washington (78), RE Brett Keisel (78), K Greg Hartley (76), LOLB Jermaine Phillips (73), CB Tye Hill (71), and WR Matt Jones (71)

Re: A Simmed Lions Franchise Tracking Draft/Progression

Is it harder to try to trade for someone with a high potential? Because in The Show it is much more difficult to trade for someone who has "A" potential as opposed to someone with "B" or "C" potential.

Odd trade accepted by the CPU. I was looking through the trade block and saw that SS Patrick Chung was on the Pats' Block. I always liked this guy, so I thought I'd offer. They wanted a HB 89+

I offered my thrid round pick (4th in the round) and Maurice Morris (73) for Chung (80) and they accepted. I was a bit shocked. They must have really wanted to get rid of him.

Does the contract / cap room and the lack of a player in a certain position have to do with any trades at all? I'm guessing that trade gave them more cap room??? Not sure

Also traded Dewayne White (83) to the Bengals for their 3rd rounder. With Avril emerging and Keisel coming in, I don't need him. Going to pick up a backup now and then on to the draft!

I would imagine so. They have Merriweather at SS, so they didn't need Chung. Thanks for asking...good to know.

Also, the menus in free agency are pretty laggy. Haven't come across this anywhere else...

Do you have an imported draft class from NCAA?

I noticed a little lag in Team Select part in exhibition, but it could have been just that one time. I haven't played since.

                              Thanks for the information.

The statistics all seem reasonable except for one glaring stat.

                              5 wins? The Lions? Please!

Just kidding. I'll stay tuned to see the other stuff when you post it.
