Breakdown of Progression

I have simmed a couple of seasons and I began to take notes on how progression was working. The younger players who perform decent will normally see a +6 to their overall. To some people that would be enough to satisfy their needs and wants for progression. I began to see a pattern with the player's stats that were being upgraded.

I then began to question, if I take a DE at the end of the year and move him to a CB...What will happen? Turns out that the DE will grow like a +6 overall increase CB. I began to make a list and write down specifically what stats and how much for each position progressed at +6 overall increase.

The key is to switch the players position after the super bowl before you continue into the offseason. You could do it before the super bowl and use him at that given position but the key aspect is to make sure before you continue into the front office part of the offseason(where after you continue it will show a screen for progressing QBs,WRs,RB,ect ect) that the given players are in the position you want them to grow.

I unfortunately, dont have a program to make a document but I will try my best typing some of the info down.

I will list defensive stats first. I will use the three letter abbreviation for each stat that M10 uses. I will list each of them from left to right and then give the following positions with the amount of increase(only the number with the position) If you use the abbreviation from above you can see how much and of what their increase by.(I hope that its not confusing and this turns into a thread fail lol)

EX.
A SS will grow in 4 awareness, 1 agility, 0 press, 4 zone coverage, and 2 man coverage if he grows +6 overall.

Now for offense. I did not do the QB stats because obviously a QB is unique in the fact that he is the only person to grow in throw accuracy. I will start with the abbreviations again because offense is different from defense.

This info is not the end all be all of progression though. There are some players that randomly increase abnormal amounts of points in abnormal stats. I have personally seen Jonathan Stewart(RB Panthers) grow 18 points in CIT after the first season but then the next time I simmed the first season he did not do it again. Also, note that this is only the numbers for players who progress +6 overall in the given positions and not anything else.

Another side note...After looking at early player progression, I have noticed that young players before any new draft seem to develop on a similar but different path compared to the M10 premade drafts.(or I may have just seen more outliers) These players tend to grow more then the numbers I gave above.

For anyone looking to make a player try and play both ways, I just ran through a franchise. I moved Crabtree to CB and Revis to WR. They both progressed as their changed position even though they had no stats that would correlate to their changed position.

What can you do with this information? I plan to make a RPG role into M10. I will take my coaches into account before I continue to the offseason. If I have a WR offensive/head coach I may switch RBs and TEs to WR so they grow like a WR. That is just one example and I felt that the OS should also have this info. Sorry if it was long, hope you find it useful.
