Start Sanchez as he hasn't had that many games started in college. I think though that if he struggles a bit that Clemens should come in so that Sanchez sees every aspect of the game and not just get rolled over by other teams if he struggles.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Sanchez.
Sounds like he's been outplaying Clemens so far, though neither has been that impressive. But Clemens sucks and he's never going to be good, there is no benefit from playing him. And I think the Jets will run the ball well enough and have a good defense so hopefully we won't have to ask Sanchez to do too much right away.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Who Should Start Week 1 for the Jets
Sanchez started 16 games against weak college defenses. There's no way that after a few months of schmoozing he's ready start day one against the greatest athletes in the world. QBs that enter the draft after their junior seasons tend to fail in large part because of a lack of maturity. Sanchez, despite being the most "pro-ready" prospect in the draft, is not ready for the NFL.Comment

Re: Who Should Start Week 1 for the Jets
I chose Clemens based on the idea that if you throw Sanchez out there and he fails, it will not be pretty. Like McGraw said, Sanchez is not ready yet. Give him time to learn the system and watch the game played out in front of him rather then throwing him in there for the hell of it or because he is the supposed future.Comment

Who should start? The answer is simple: Who ever did the best in camp.
It should be an open job.Comment

Re: Who Should Start Week 1 for the Jets
Might wanna be careful with Sanchez. Don't under estimate his lack of experience in college. I'd sit this kid all year and let him compete in camp next year. They won't, but he's in real danger long term if he starts this year.
History says he goes in the tank if they start him this year.PSN: JISTIC_OS

They have to start Sanchez. He's their future, why not give him a just right away! He was there first round selection, hopefully the Jets will get what they want out of him.Comment

Clemons. No need to rush Sanchez. Ryan and Flacco were exceptions to the rule last yearComment

Re: Who Should Start Week 1 for the Jets
If the battle is at all close, you have to start Sanchez. Clemens has been in our system for 3+ years now, and if he can't beat out a rook convincingly he doesn't deserve to start this season.Comment
