Online Franchise - LET me get this straight

    No salary cap
    No trades
No real life NCAA draft classes

wtf is the point even adding it without these key features? I mean, really? It's like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the peanut butter and jelly.

Dude, it's year one of this, next year that stuff should be there. Until then get creative.

From what I understand, the online franchise features can be improved post-release since most of the logic/features reside on EA servers and not the game disc. Could be mistaken though.

You are correct about the salary cap and NCAA draft classes. But there are trades for sure.

Yea, I mean isn't trades the whole drive of the iphone app? Being able to do trades and change your depth chart?

Don't forget about the inability to scrim inside the franchise leagues. :/ .... for some leagues, this was a great feature between weeks during the season before and after playing their league games to get comfortable playing with their newly acquired players via trades. I'm baffled as to why this isn't a part of the franchise.

Please bring this back via a patch -

You can trade. You can be a big kid and come up with ways to manage a salary cap - and it might actually be more fun than what you wish you had.

Re: Online Franchise - LET me get this straight

I'm can see both sides of the argument on this one. People say make due with what EA is giving with us it is year one of this. But we have been asking for a feature like this since the spawn and merge days of the PS2. And if you count last years Online League feature this is actually year two of an online multi-user feature. Now my question is why devote time to Iphone apps and stuff when you don't have all the meat and potatoes of the Online Franchise done? Shouldn't all the extras like that be the cherry on the top for next year? Get the basic features in this year like salary cap, NCAA drafts, etc.

With all this being said I will certainly be playing the Online Franchise even if it means keeping some sort of spreadsheet for salary cap. But I do think the whole thing is bittersweet and I can see the frustration. Maybe they can do some post release server side magic, but I am guessing the will just wait to roll it out for next year.

Does anyone know if draft picks can be traded? Before or during the draft?

You are exactly right and we are starving! SOOOOOOO, eat the bread and wait until the store gets the PBJ...

Yeah I'm not liking that either BUT I'm loving the fact that we have SOMETHING! Something is better than nothing... Doesn't make it right but it's better than nothing and they can expand on this with the servers. Back off the ledge and compose yourself, it's not the end of the world and things can be added...

I don't believe that draft picks can be traded.

Also, upgrades can be made serve side, but Ian and Co. have indicated that any major upgrades this year, such as salary cap, etc... are unlikely. Can and will are not the same thing.

What I would really like to know is whether CPU controlled teams will even pick people up during the season or off season from the waiver wire of if the comish has to do that for CPU teams. No one seems to know.
