...Guess not, not according to Madden.

Touchback. Couldn't challenge it. Took it to replay, the ball CLEARLY went out at the two or three. It was ruled a touchback.

That same drive, the CPU throws a to the corner of the endzone, the guy jumps up, catches the ball, does the "two foot plant" animation and plants both feet about half of a yard OUT of the endzone.

Touchdown! I challenge, and the play stands.

I'm having my doubts now, guys. There is some garbage stuff going on here.

Also, Tommie Harris is leading the league in interceptions with four after three weeks.

I love madden 10 personally, but your statement is ignorant to say the least.

I'm enjoying Madden 10 very much as well but his statement was dead on. Madden has always had not just a ton of flaws, but a lot of really simple things wrong with that should've been caught during day 1 of testing.

i mean, seriously, did anyone really believe that all the simple things like broken challenge system, player morphs, warp glides, etc would be fixed? If you did then you just haven't used EA products long enough. I love the improvements but some of the stuff wrong in the game is just inexcusable. Especially since it's been wrong in the game for years.

What? It is 100% correct. The issues mentioned in this thread are nothing new unfortunately.

Every game has field boundary detection issues. Now, if you start sailing passes into the stands for completions, then I'd say the developers should probably consider looking to see how serious the problem is and maybe even sit down to discuss whether or not they should talk about possibly fixing it at some point, perhaps.

Sorry, but this needs to be fixed. If the receiver has his BIG TOE out of bounds then it shouldn't be a catch. It wouldn't of been a catch in "that other game", and it shouldn't be a catch in Madden NFL 10.

I want a game that will get this right, however in Madden I would be willing to settle for plays where the big toe is out and it is still a catch, even though it shouldn't be, as long as that was the fine line of boundary detection. I would just shrug and say "even in real life refs screw this up." I wouldn't be happy but I'd get over it.

Someone on twitter told Ian that Madden 10 was an 8.5 Ian then asked "What would it take to get that other 1.5?" Well, imo, the game needs to start by getting more of the basics like these problems fixed. After that we can look into bringing back old features and improving current ones.

EA did great work this year improving what was Madden 09 into Madden 10, but that doesn't make M10 a great football game. It makes it one of the best games of Madden. Honestly when you compare graphics and features and game play and controls, M10 does rank up there with he 04, 05 and 06 games. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, but I won't be dusting off my Nintendo game Cube to play '04. If anything I may still put 2k5 back in my 360 from time to time, but who knows?

Pathetic excuse. Can you throw some legitimate words together to defender your case?

While the issues you discussed seem extreme, I have to agree with the previous poster. Every game has field detection problems. A couple years back The Show had a problem with some stadiums where a HR would end up teleporting into the middle of right field for a ground rule double (something like that anyway). One of those stadiums was my home team's stadium. I was left with a choice: let it go and enjoy the game, or blow my brains out. Fortunately the gun jammed and here I am today.

The big question is how frequently does this occur? How many times have this happened? I remember several issues with Madden on last-gen where players would get touchdowns without crossing the end zones. They were very close, but when going into replay, they clearly didn't cross the line and neither did the ball.

It wasn't even close. I'm usually not too picky, but this particular play wasn't even CLOSE.

Twice in three games. Hell, the only two times I've seen red-zone TD catches near the sideline.
