NFL Reloaded: The Lions Stand a Chance!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NFL ANNOUNCES REALIGNMENT
NEW YORK, New York (May 12, 2009) - The recent downturn in the economy has not left us unaffected. No team is projected to make a profit in the upcoming 2009-2010 season, and some are projected $10m or more in losses. With this grim reality, we have come up with a new way of doing business.

Gone are the days of bloated rookie contracts. The NFLPA and NFL Owners have reached an agreement to realign the league and restructure all contracts to better suit the economy we face today. In short, this means all ticket prices throughout the NFL will be lowered by 50% at least, and up to 80% in some markets.

The draft will be held Friday, May 29th through Thursday, June 4th. The order will be determined by lottery, and will be held the morning of the draft. There will be no trading of picks, and there will be a cap on all salaries. Furthermore, there will no longer be a minimum salary cap for any team that reports a loss in profit. This will help keep all franchises afloat, and keep them in their current locations.
