Gator Bowl Champs January 2, 2011 - 6:45am Posted by AllstarMe
The Gator Bowl was definitely a step up from the Chik-Fil-A Bowl last season, but our opponent this season were a bunch of chumps from the Sun Belt. We play better teams in our sleep. We came out cocky, and they shocked us and fought right back.
We got up by two scores, but they kept on fighting back. We didn't give them the credit they deserved for sure. With 10 seconds left they had the ball at our ten, but they threw it to their tight end and I laid him out at the 5, and time expired. At least we won.

I did what I could. I just really hope our offense gets a big boost next season, if I decide to stay, I'm not sure.

Changing my number back to 11, I feel weird in the single digits.

Picked third by ESPN in the Coastal division. Screw that.

Starting Off Right September 4, 2011 - 11:48am Posted by AllstarMe
Duke is the lone team I have ever had an interception against, so when we pulled into their stadium I started licking my chops. They love to pass, and their quarterbacks aren't too great at reading coverage, so I knew I'd have an opportunity if I focused and played my zones well.
Didn't go according to plan. Duke is down even for them this year, and we had a field day with them. I got to the quarterback four times, but just barely missed sacks. It's frustrating, but at the same time it feels good to absolutely lay out a quarterback.
If our offense can play like this all season, I don't think we'll be looking at a trip to the Gator Bowl if you know what I mean.

Only three tackles, but I really got after the quarterback well. Sure I'd love to have some more tackles and other stuff like that, but I'll take a 44-17 victory any day of the week.

I know this may be a little early...But are you gonna stay for your senior year?Comment

Re: Hammertime! Connor Davies, a Outside Linebackers Perspective
I really dont know if I'll be staying for my senior year. It depends on a few things. If we win the National Championship I'm leaving, most likely. This is going to be a good team next year too, so I really don't know yet.Comment

Thanks man. I love laying out running backs and receivers too, but it just seems like I spend most of my time on the field making quarter backs pay for my frustration.Comment

Going to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech. They beat the crap out of us last year, and I want revenge.

The Bigger They Are September 11, 2011 - 10:15am Posted by AllstarMe
Last year Georgia Tech knocked us off early in the season and we never recovered, so we all had revenge on our minds as we traveled to Atlanta in the second game of the season. It'd be a long time before we got our revenge.
I played out of my mind, having my best game ever, in our biggest game since I've been a Hokie. I nearly had half as many tackles for loss in this one game then I had all last season. It was read, react, drill for me.
We were leading 17-10, but they scored late in the fourth to tie it, thus leading to my first ever Overtime game. It took 5 OT's, but we finally stopped their offense on a 4th and 3, when they needed to get into the end zone and get the two point conversion to tie it up.

This was the best game of my career. Something I can hang my hat on, and if we do go out on top and this is my last season, I know this game will be talked about. It felt real good to knock off the #1 team in the nation, and I can't wait until we get North Carolina in two weeks.
