1 month after release. How have your impressions about NCAA 10 changed?
Thoughts? Talk about the initial experience of playing the game for the first 3 or 4 days. Then talk about what your experiences were like 3 or 4 days ago. Also give your initial rating of the game along with what you rate the game now. Thanks.

Re: 1 month after release. How have your impressions about NCAA 10 changed?
Hmm interesting topic. I would say when I first got it I LOVED IT! I was hooked on every game mode including RTG. I probably gave it a 9 at that point, but still believe college atmosphere is missing from this game!!! Really it is and it needs it badly.
I recently went threw a slump where I got really bored of this game and it got extremely stale. I could win with a D+ rated team over an A rated team on Heisman (not consistently of course), and that was boring to me. That made dynasty mode boring as well (I am really pulling for some sort of AD mode right now). RTG got boring and bland.
But the past I would say 3 days or so this game has once again gotten exciting for me. I have been playing around with sliders and have finally found sliders where I am getting realistic results and have been pumped on big wins. I actually feel like I deserve the wins from mainly play calling and my teams player ratings vs theres, of course with the stick skills.
I actually have dove back into RTG with this as well and I am having a blast! This game is fun again, although I really really hate that there is NO College Atmosphere to it. Its bland in that sense and Dynasty mode needs a major face lift with something like AD mode.
Im still having fun with it though and right now my rating of the game is 8/10, but still the most fun I have had with a football game.
Trust me if you find the right sliders for you, results will be realistic and so will stats. Its really fun once you find the right ones and continue to tweek them. Hell I recently missed an extra point because I had the wrong kicker in the game and I was just slightly off with my accuracy! I have never in the 9 years I have played this game, unintentionally missed an extra point!
Just so you dont have to read my crap if you dont want to, right now im at 8/10 -
Re: 1 month after release. How have your impressions about NCAA 10 changed?
Maybe I just haven't found the right sliders yet, but I had a lot more fun with NCAA 09 (even with all of its problems). In this year's game, I feel, to an extent I've never felt before, like I really don't have much say in the outcome of a game. The computer pulls so much cheap crap (miracle broken tackles, shoestring tackles of much faster players, insane catches, offensive tackles that can outrun the whole defense when they pick up a fumble, etc.), and combined with the fact that it's almost impossible to establish an effective running game (especially from the shotgun), plus the constant injuries and the 80 holding and facemask penalties per game, really makes me feel more like a spectator than a participant. I feel like so much of the game is out of my hands; it's really frustrating. I force myself to play, but it really feels like more of a chore than a pleasure, and I can't say that playing is really something I look forward to anymore.
I really think 09 was a better game; I certainly had a lot more fun with it.Comment

At first I thought the offensive linemen AI was poor. Now I think it is diarrhea.
NCAA use to be my favorite game but I have not played any of the 360 versions for more than 2 months. I played NCAA 10 for 3 weeks then I returned it (I rent NCAA now; IMO it is not worth close to $60).Last edited by boritter; 08-19-2009, 11:54 PM.EA: Please add in-game saves.Comment

My initial impression was disappointment. Same as 09 with some useless modes added on.

After one month and playing Madden, my feelings toward NCAA have improved, though not by much. New animations trigger way too much (10+ one handed catches a game?), amount of injuries is a joke, penalties are terrible even on conservative, pass rush still non-existent even with modified sliders. But I realized EA has my money and there isn't much I can do at this point. Don't like Madden, so maybe I'll trade it for Batman or NHL.<O

I am finding it completely impossible to have fun with this game. I'm trying really, really hard; I just don't think it's possible.Go Colts, Go Irish!!

7/10, mainly because of the lack of atmosphere. Oh yeah, too many upsets. Another thing that might bump it down is the underrated teams, such as Houston, UTEP, and Michigan State having unrealistic seasons. 4-8 for MSU? No, not even close.Kris Bryant doesn't hit homeruns, he destroys pitcher's dreams. #BryantwatchComment

When it came out I was thrilled mainly because I got a new toy and it related to college football. Currently, I'm satisfied with this game. By satisfied, I mean I can deal with all the things that are lacking. My passion for College Football helps me overlook the inefficiencies of the game.Comment

I love this game.
I have only one major issue with the gameplay this year: Robo QB lives in All-American.
If that's fixed or toned down in patch #2, I think NCAA 10 ranks right up there with NCAA 04 and NCAA 06.
I think the #1 thing the developers should learn from NCAA 10 is how good the game can be when they give us responsive, working sliders. The sliders in NCAA 10 (for the most part) work amazingly well. That's why it's possible to lose games to the CPU this year.Last edited by Strummer101er; 08-20-2009, 08:14 AM.Comment

Re: 1 month after release. How have your impressions about NCAA 10 changed?
My impressions have gotten better...
I really dont see all of the things people are talking about, I have seen 1 one haded catch in 20+ games, currently top school in the country in my dynasty is LSU followed by Notre Dame and I think nebraska.. yea ive been Boise State at # 2 but for only one or 2 games at the most
no robo qb, normal fumbles normal injuries.... I think people have to:
1. STOP playing on heisman..that mode is whack since the ps2 days
2. Take the time to find good sliders.. this is tricky because it is time consuming, but it is wort it
3. about the progression problems. my guys (and only some) only go up 5 or maybe 6 points during a year.. is that the problem people are talking about??
this is the best football game of next gen... ok ok I havent played madden but my problem with madden is that it is too simple.. you can get beat in the regular season 4 or 5 times and still win the SB..
In NCAA lose once kiss the national championship goodbye lose twice and maybe no conference championship (although I have one loss, Ranked # 7 and have an upcoming game againts Notre Dame thats ranked # 2)
At the end of the day .. its a game.. if I wanted s REAL football experience then I go out to play football.. and YES there are a lot of things I HATE mainly the color problems on the white long sleeves, wind not working properly, not enough panckakes, the dumb thing when the qb gets hit and the ball floats (this is ok but not all the balls should go up in the air like that)
I can go on and on but its a game, and I am having fun with it
Oh and I have to rant about hits!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH FATIGUE!!!! and not enough RBs being at the heisman race.. see i can go on and on !!!Comment

The "progression problem" is not that guys are capable of going up 5 or 6 points. The problem is that so many guys go up so many points, that pretty much the top 60 teams in the nation are going to be "A" rated teams or higher by year 3 or 4. They made the starting points higher for incoming freshmen and for freshmen already in the game. It destroys recruiting and any sense of realism when teams like Oregon State are loaded with talent across the board by Season 2, for no other reason than a busted progression model.
1 month after release, two things occured that have significantly lowered my opinion of this game, to the point where I might trade it in.
1) Madden 10 was released. The gameplay is FAR superior, and it looks and runs much better than NCAA 10
2) The NCAA 10 dev team has gone AWOL and done nothing to indicate any effort to fix this game in the near future.Comment

Okay, obviously you just prefer the game of college football to pro football. But that really doesn't tell us if NCAA 10 is a better game than, say College Football 2k3.

I mean , for the people playing madden, what are the average scores.. like making 40 points per game.. is that realistic in the nfl?? NO.. but theres nothing they can do about it, because people would hate a "hard" game.. if you score 40 points in ncaa with lets say florida, its normal... in NFL its not
I have my own theories about the DEV team of ncaa... it almost seems like they shipped a non completed game to give madden more relevance.. i mean its impossible to getwrong so many aspects of the game, and even aspects that were right to begin with (for example the wind, auto subs and white long sleeves)
So I get the feeling that it was ordered to not get in the way of madden.. just my opinion..
And oh I really dont get why they cant give us a list of fixes.. if a fix its not included in the final patch, who cares.. its the same thing telling us before than after"!ªComment
