What position do you initially control on D?

Seeing how my defense is probably a D+ or C-, curious as to what player most most of you control on defense? The MLB? I've been controlling the right line backer or left, and try to always get in on a blitz....doesn't seem to work well.

i normally use dt or fs for easier sacks and picks

I switch it up a bit but I usually play DT or MLB. I've tried playing FS or SS but evidently I really suck at those positions so I rarely try anymore unless it's a hail mary or something.

I use the weaker of my two DE's - it's not as cheesy as it been in years past, this year you have to get on the sticks, stay off the turbo and work for a sack.

I use the weaker of the two DEs too. Sometimes I'll control a linebacker if he's in zone or a corner if he's in a flat zone.

Left Defensive End....MONEY IN THE BANK. For those that say the pass rush isn't in Madden 10, I have set an all-time nfl record for sack with rookie Michael Johnson in only the 6th game of the season on All-Pro. I actually LOVE the way playing as a defensive end feels and making moves with the right stick.

Nose Tackle for 3-4. DE for 4-3.

If I'm playing as a 4-3 DE, or have the LBs subbed at De package in, I control my best DE or OLB. I want my opponent to account for him, each and every single snap.

I'll control a 3-4 edge rusher from time to time, and once in ablue moon, a safety or nickle/dime back.

I also prefer to contorl the DL, because I can get real creative with pre-snap defensive playmaker controls.

I'll assign DL's to drop back into coverage, to spy, assign a DE to a back if I sniff screen..

Sometimes I'll call a man coverage blitz, and have the entire DL assigned to drop back into coverage.

I think it is a pretty good way to disguise defenses in this game.

I play defensive end or middle linebacker.

It seems as if the CPU-AI controls the DB's much better then I ever could.

When I try to play a Safety or Cornerback, I always get burned. But the CPU seems to get lots of Picks so I let the AI handle those guys.

Besides, nothing is more satisfying then Turboing to a QB and Hit-Sticking him for a nasty sack!

I also use a DL...my stick skills are far too $hitty to try playing any other position.

MLB every play , every year since Madden 92' An I always lead my team in Tck Tckl and Pass def. It takes real skill to control the middle of the field ,read the play pre snap , react to PA. I get the most out of playing DE with the MLB,

I like to control my DE

Ogunleye has amazing swim moves. Which explains why he has a league leading 14.0 sacks already in my franchise.

Unlike last year, Im using the DT alot more. Better pass rush moves this year, but even if I dont get a sack I can still push the pocket back in the QB's face.

I'm right there with you on the MLB (quarterback of the defense).

I seem to be getting caught up a lot in traffic this year on All Madden. By the time I block shed with the right stick, the back is through the hole. You got any tips for fighting off blocks?

Also, I'd be interested in knowing if you imploy defensive assist and how do you work your eyes on a play? Do you look at your backer or the ball carrier?

im also a DE player...sometimes the DT, especially if i have mauler on the inside like Haynesworth, or Henderson or Stroud.

I wish i could play as the FS or SS. Whenever i play against somebody who uses them, they are amazing at it. they are everywhere i want to throw. If i play against somebody who plays like this, im gonna lose 4 out of 5 times cuz i end up throwing pick after pick after pick right into his hands. i dunno how they do it and how i choke so hard. just wish i could do it...
