Can anyone answer the question about the broadcast camera? Is it the same as last years or did they actually make it a broadcast camera view?

I'll see what can be done about it for patches and future versions.

I'm just as disappointed as you are. Passing is kind of my thing. It's how I got to play div. 1 last year. I am in no way a very skilled forward. If I ended up trying some of the things my teammates were doing, I ended up looking foolish. I was a valuable cog in the wheel because of my positioning, defence and most importantly my play making.

This would've really seperated the average passers from the great passers. It's too bad.
We did test 6 on 6 out with Hardcore passing and you have to believe me, it would not be a popular move if we forced it on everyone. I honestly doubt that you would like it as much as you think you would. I like hardcore fine playing 1 vs 1 or against the CPU but it was extremely frustrating 6 on 6.

Even using Normal for online the passing is a lot different and much more skilled based.

Re: NHL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360)

Couple first impressions, (lots of positives but I'll stick to the negatives for the game's sake):

-Kicking the puck out of a pin seems too easy, and the puck moves too fast/far when you do it. ( as far as I can tell your chance of successfully kicking the puck loose is 100%)

-Similarly to the above point, it seems as though all players can pin just as well as the next guy (although I need to test it a bit more.) Sykora shouldn't be able to hold a guy against the boards as well as Gill.

-Goalies still go into that damned split-save animation too much, though they get up faster this year and can apparently make saves from their butt (though I haven't seen this yet). Overall it doesn't seem to be as big as a problem from last year, but it just looks so damn unrealistic, especially since the goalies can go into that split-save almost instantly from any other position.

-Rebounds bounce up too much forcing the goalie into those desperation save a little too often, but more importantly it gives opposing players in the area too many whack-in-out-of-the-air-goals. I've seen these types of goals twice in about 5 games (really 5 periods), and the CPU is 2/2 at them. More shots (especially hard ones, should deflect up and over the glass instead, or at least behind the net cleanly.)

-Similarly to the point above, although it's great there's more rebounds and that the goalie tries to direct rebounds away from the net, the rebounds seem to be left in the crease to often, they need to deflect off the pads with a little more power so that they're no lying in the crease for an easy tap in.

Well thanks for following through with the screen shot!
And if I am going to find some positive, then at least VL4's face looks better than it did last year.
If you cannot make anymore changes, does this mean that the game has gone gold?

Thanks for looking into getting it in either via patch or in NHL11.

Here is a real screen shot...

Didnt take long until something like this was found, hopefully there is ways to fix this for the release. Otherwise you can imagine what online will be.

AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!! Seriously. I couldn't stand that last year. The only time you see those is when someone rarely does them in shootouts. Soooo many times the one-handed animation screwed up my backhand shots etc...

So far, from what I've seen, the animation is gone. Anybody else notice or see otherwise? Thoughts?

agree 100% at least ea has the balls to admit the feature was broken and yank it out of the game. this game is amazing. going to play more bbl for full impressions.

Press vision control and deke and you'll see that the feature is still there.

I'm happy about this. I HATED when I wanted to do a backhander or just go to the backhand for a deke, and it would force that animation on me and the player would push the puck off his stick. I know why it happened, because my analog just barely went down enough to enable the animation, but that move was so sensitive, so I'm glad it's relegated to the LT modifier.

I've noticed too that passing seems really slow even when you hold the trigger for as long as possible. Looking at the gameplay sliders screen though 'pass speed' is only set at about 50% even on hardcore, so I'm thinking this could be fixed with sliders.

I still think we would benefit from a quick pass modifier button, like I detailed a few pages back.

Passing is far too slow on hardcore. You can't even hold it long enough to get a strong pass because it passes automatically if you hold for a certain period of time.

I really love the no pass aim assist but they need to up the default speed of passes because as it stands now you can't even hit an outlet pass to someone breaking free up ice.
