Anyone else notice the Attributes Effect Slider???

There is a slider entitles Attributes Effect that says it determines how much the players play according to their attributes...

So...from the sound of it, you can change how much the attributes matter even when NOT in hardcore mode.

    Am I right...redshirt, maybe???

This would be nice since I'm not sold on the hardcore passing...well I won't know for sure until I'm able to jack up the pass speed and play with the sliders.

This game is gonna rule, btw.

Yes, it stretches out (at the high end) and compresses the attribute differences between players.

That kind sir, is the most awesomeness news ever. I was wondering what the slider was for thanks for the heads up.

Ok...it even looks like you can play hardcore and turn off manual passing if you'd like...

Basically there are so many sliders (and well chosen ones, at that) that you can do almost any combination of anything.

            Thanks for the confirmation, Redshirt.

BTW, I've really taken to the Hardcore Passing after a couple more hours with the demo...just needs some tweaking.

This is the best hockey game ever, btw.

Can't wait to crank this slider up when I get the full version. I hope to have the superstars skating circles around the 4th line scrubs.

Out of curiosity, what tweaks do you prefer?

The passing needs to be a bit faster, with the ability to touch (one-time) pass or tic-tac-toe. So...

The initial pass should be harder, with the second and third passes maybe 2/3 as hard.

That coupled with turning DOWN the CPU's pass accuracy and equalling the CPU's pass speed to the Humans.

As it is in the demo, I'm not even using it (manual passing) anymore...

I will try tweaking when I get the game, but may end up resorting to Hardcore Mode with the Precision Passing turned 'off' while messing with the sliders to get as messy passing as I can find for both the Human and CPU.

Thanks for listening...or reading, I should say, eh?

The passing is one of the reasons I may stick to Normal mode when I play off-line this year. Things could change when I get my hands on the sliders, but I'm leaning towards playing on Normal with Attribute Effect all the way up, Game Speed down a bit and Pass Assistance at the minimum. I don't want to mess around with holding the RT for pass speed because it's a little bit unrealistic (an NHL player can pass the puck hard or soft regardless of how much he winds up his pass) and because it will really mess up my EASHL play.

Off-line, I'm going to tweak Normal mode as much as I can to make it pay like Hardcore while still retaining some of the feel I'll experience in OTP and the EASHL. Having said that, kudos to the devs for even including this option as this community has been SCREAMING for something like this from the Madden team since last gen. Really shows the top notch open-minded people working on this game "get it".

This may all change if there's a Hardcore lobby in 1v1 online play though lol.

Hopefully, there will be a detailed explanation for each slider instead of the travesty of a manual we got with Madden 10. I like Madden 10, but seriously that manual is almost worthless.

Did you know that you can play Hardcore Mode with the Precision Passing turned off???

                        Yup, sure can.

                          Hey Redshirt...

So...can you give an estimate or some sort of definitive answer on how many more errant passes we'll see from the CPU if we completely deplete their pass accuracy???

                          Basically...the slider noticably works, right???

There is a lot riding on that.

                              For me too OBG.

I'm speaking mainly though about the sliders in general. Yes, it's great to have a full complement of Human/Cpu sliders. But it'll only be truly great....if their effective. I'm hoping the sliders are very sensitive.
