What do you guys who hate the presentation need to actually like it? If they had flashy spot light intros would that make that much of a big difference? Presentation of the on ice action between the two games is pretty much identical, except Thorne and Clement's commentary is a whole hell of a lot better and more professional sounding. Not to mention theres a TON of new dialog this year vs the same 5-6 year old 2k pbp script. Enlighten me because I just don't get the whole stale presentation arguement.
It really comes down to when you score a goal BORING! I want the horn going off longer, I want the celebration to be longer. I am just not feeling this game in that area. Everything else is nice. Though graphics did take a hit from last. Maybe it is become of the fans. But they are kinda funny looking when they have their helmets off. Like when they are shaking hands. Maybe because I have it in 1080P? I will say this sure you can add all the music in yourself, but with the other game you don't have too. I guess I want EA to do that too.

      Re: NHL 10 DEMO AI

+ The CPU AI actually uses board play at good times (this worried me)

+ I was on the PK and my goalie gave up a huge rebound from a shot from the point. My D man batted the puck all the way down to center ice.

+ I was picking on Crosby and Guerin jumped in and dropped the gloves with me. Thorne actually said, "And now we have a 3rd man in on this one".

      - CPU AI will never ever instigate post whistle scrums (as far as I can tell)

      - CPU AI will never fight you. You can pretty much have them bobble and fumble the puck all game if you intimidate them early.

      - What's the point of the turtle button? You still get 5 for fighting. Can you actually get injured in a fight? If so that is really sweet!

Make a game worth liking, and I'll like it.

I bought Madden this year, and I'm loving it so far.

You're aware that prior to 2k9 NHL2k had custom soundtracks as well right and that the actual goal songs in 2k9 are likenesses and not the real ones right? It took me all of an hour or less to make a play list on the 360 dashboard of each real life actual goal song and all of 5 mins to plug it into the game via the custom music feature. Not using the option out of laziness and then bitching that the game is lacking is completely weaksauce Scott. So you want goal celebrations to what, last 20 minutes or something? Well ok.

OK, but if the other game has it then why should I go through all that trouble. I want them to last longer than 5 seconds and bam right to the faceoff. Also, that would take me a lot longer to do all that. So I think you are now fishing! Weaksauce? How? Because I expect a game to have that already. OK. Then I am bar bar Q saucing right now!

i still see poor crowd reactions to certain plays...it's as if there is some kind of lag at times with the action and the crowd and announcers responses. penalties by the red wings have drawn cheers (not boos) and they've scored a goal to very little reaction. i was kinda hoping those issues would have been fixed a little more...

LOL yeah, I want the Family Guy "shi-poo-pee" song everytime I score. "Yeeaaaaaah I scored a goal."

But honestly I can't see people's beef with the graphics, I mean sure there may be improvements needed in some of the skate animations but how could the graphics honestly get better? Have the likeness of each Arena and bam the graphics can stay like this for 10 years as far as I'm concerned.

Hopefully next year they will focus on that coupled with some new cutscenes, tweak the BAP and BAGM some more, and the game will damn near be flawless.

Wow that's new, I haven't seen that yet nor hear anyone else mention it, that definately is a step in the right direction, now all we need is the AI to pick strategic fights.

Wow. I guess giving the CPU team various advantages is the developers' way of making the CPU harder to play against on higher levels. Rather than making the CPU players smarter the developers insert boosts that they receive. This is also known as AI cheating. Any unfair advantage that is given to the AI is AI cheating. So your previous claims that there is no AI cheating are false. The AI can make perfect tic-tac-toe passes at rocket speed, skate twice as fast as the players on the human team, have perfect shooting accuracy, and have sticks that are incapable of being lifted. Are there any other AI advantages/cheats we should know about. This has to go for NHL 11. Sorry, I do not mean this to be an attack on the developers. I have no idea how hard you guys work to make the game we want.
Do you know what separates you guys from 2K though? Although each game is not perfect and does have its fair share of glitches/bugs, you guys listen to the community. Your competition does not. You guys care and actually do fix what is wrong. This will take you a long way. So, please eliminate AI boosts, since you do not want to call it AI cheating even though it is the same thing, in NHL 11.
The CPU does should not get advantages. It should get smarter instead. Better positioning. Smarter and tighter defense. Smarter passes. That kind of stuff. According to a 2K developer, all AI cheats and boosts are gone in NHL 2K10. No reason why NHL 10 should have them. AI cheating should now be a thing of the past since sports games are getting more authentic every year.

Let me start off by saying I LOVE this demo!!! However, I do agree with this poster about the crowd reactions to certain plays. Sometimes it is flat out phenomenol, but other times it is like the same play (goal, puck floating on the crease, big hit, etc) happens and the crowd doesnt react. Is this fixed for the retail version?

Edit: I do believe that this is just a demo issue because sometimes when you hit somebody the crowd gets deafeningly loud, even louder then when you score a goal. I have a feeling this will be fixed for retail. Other then this issue this is one GREAT game!!

Sorry, but no sports game anywhere made by anyone has ever done this. (and probably never will, not for a $60 console game).

There will always be CPU boosts (and/or handicapping human players) in sports games. The human mind will always win out. How long does it take people to find the glitch goals?

The only difference in any games is how the CPU gets boosts. Neither 2k10 or NHL10 are going to play fair (along with any other sports game out there).

A good sports game will let you play and not notice these boosts as badly. A good sports game allows you to win if you play the game well. A poor sports game forces you to recognize the boosts and adjust to them specifically. A bad sports game gives you those "WTF" moments where you want to throw the controller at the TV.
