It's basically to the point where there are about 2 a game, this needs to be toned down big time. More break ups, less picks, or make the acceleration on the offense a little faster to compensate for the hurriedness of an interception return.

Please do something to reduce all the Pick-6's
Hopefully this is going in to one of the first patches, but I just started my 32 all human controlled OF and we are about 12/16 games completed and the amount of pick-6's are horrible.

Re: Please do something to reduce all the Pick-6's
I think the problem is the pursuit angles after an interception, the offense doesn't know how to take an angle so once you/opponent get to the sideline, it's almost a guaranteed pick 6, sometimes you'll have to break a tackle. Very frustrating, apparently no one taught these little polygon guys playing the game anything about pursuit angles. -

i really think it has to do with the horrible pursuit angles the cpu on your team or the opposing team makes.Comment

Re: Please do something to reduce all the Pick-6's
It's all about the pursuit angles, which are ruining many aspects of this game (Receivers gaining too much YAC for instance.)
Pursuit angles are the reason that all the games are so high scoring, because the defense takes completely stupid and unrealistic pursuit angles.Comment

I think the problem is that the rating is too consistently applied. I.E. a guy who has a 60 pursuit is going to take a 60-type of angle on almost every play, rather than taking a good angle only 60% of the time or something like that.
The rating shouldn't make them take consistently bad angles, but a low rating should increase the frequency at which they take bad angles. With everyone who's a poor angle guy taking a terrible angle every play, it makes the entire offense virtually incapable of making a tackle on a return. There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.
The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.

If someone posted a thread saying the Jets jersey's are green you would have someone come on and say "Funny, they're not green on my disc"Comment

Well to his defense a pick six usually only happens when someone throws a pick to a defender who has wide open space in front of them. If your smart about where you throw, namely don't take risks near the side line or LOS, then you won't see many pick six's (at least against you anyway).
Ergo, don't make stupid choices and you won't see pick six's. Just like, gasp, real life football!Comment

Re: Please do something to reduce all the Pick-6's
I will be the first to say that I love the game. Many of the issues others see, I either overlook, or don't see at all.
But I do not go into threads and say, "Well, it isn't true because I don't see it."
I know the kid I responded to just joined so unfortunately it is somewhat likely he is here trolling.
But if this board, as a whole, had a lot more tolerance to each other, it would be such a better place (like it used to be when people could discuss issues civilly).
It's just frustrating to me to see where a majority of these discussions go these days.
I will admit, I'm not perfect, but I try to respect others opinions as to what they see and do not like.Comment

It's with the CPU throwing them.
But there is a mix of stricly online and offline players in here so we will avoid that.
And your defense shows you really haven't read the thread. Pick 6's don't happen this frequently in real life, and mainly it is because the pursuit angles are so bad.
I don't think anyone would have a problem with the occasional CB jumping a route in the flat and running it back. It's when a safety picks it off in the backfield and runs past everyone all the way back, and that happens all too often.
It has nothing to do with the silly passes, but more so the way the offense reacts after the pic.Comment

Exactly, and that is my big issue.

Whatever issues I have, I try and make my case. State something is a problem in Madden and the usual suspects will show up and deny it and sometimes flame other posters and never get a warning. You can only troll and flame people if you're defending Madden. Look at how many people when they have an issue have to add in first "don't get me wrong I like/love the game". People are defensive because of the rampant defenders that patrol the board. It's them who ruin the boards and topics, not the ones they're flaming, they can't debate like civil adults.Comment
