Well, I advanced early this time and accidentally simmed a game between two users, so we're gonna wait till everybody's got their games in this time around .

I think if we can knock these games out by Saturday evening that'd be good. We're moving ahead of schedule right now, which is good, so you'll be able to wash the bad taste out soon enough.

I am having a real tough time running a 3-4 on this game, even with the loaded Cowboys defensive roster. It seems like I can't stop ish when it comes to the running game & the pass-rush does not seem to get there either thus leaving me in having to play bend-but-don't-break defense instead of being aggressive. Case in point, Ware has a whopping 1 sack in 4 games and that sack came during a simmed game that I didnt' even play.

Any tips? It could be that I haven't yet acclimated myself to playing user opponents or it could be that I'm still just not yet fully grasping Madden gameplay. Either way, I got some work to do.

I had a tough time coming to the 3-4 after being a 4-3 guy for so long, but after a decent amount of games, im starting to get it.

All i really do is mix up my blitz's from all the different 3-4 packages, then at the line see if I can spot a place to overload and hot route appropriate guys to blitz there. I also find that if you can play bump and run and get a jam on the receivers, it can help alot as it takes some time for them to break out of their jam. I have 2 good corners though so that helps. This can burn you if it doesnt work out

Shift the D-line around, shift your backer, etc. It seems like the CPU catches on quick to any sort of play calling pattern.

Just a heads up I'm out of town this weekend, and will be back sometime Sunday night. Ill be ready either Sunday night or anytime Monday Andromada. Fitz is ready after the bye week.

I'm not completely comfortable with Madden's gameplay yet, either. Opposite of you, I am struggling on offense. In my opinion I think the key to the 3-4 is to be unpredictable in terms of pressure. I like to speed up people's internal clock by blitzing a few plays in a row, then hint at a blitz and sit back into the crossing lane... things like that.

I also think there are good blitzes in the 3-4 playbook that don't even appear to be blitzes on the surface, and really cover the obvious areas well. If you got a guy that checks flats first... cover them often and then when you got him trying something else - fire the blitz!

Don't be afraid of cover 1 and 0. Throwing deep in this game isn't automatic, especially against pressure. On top of that, if your opponent has a zone play called you could really muck up his plans, and vice versa if he has a man-breaker. When called well, zone blitzes are still the most devastating play call in this game in my opinion. D-Ware is an animal and I'd move him around more. Get him some reps on the RT - not only do people scramble that way, but he'll likely be facing a less talented OL.

I've run a few games with 3-4 teams and I've had some fairly good success on defense. You can definitely play that scheme in Madden. Good advice posted on it so far.

Wow, this league has been doing a great job of getting their games in. The Ravens vs. Patriots is the only user game remaning.

Cover 1 press plays, cover 3 press, zone blitzes. 3-4 has all kinds of fun stuff in it.

Calvin Pace has been doing really well..he has 3 sacks in 4 games, and Bart Scott is doing some good things as well.

I'm also blessed with a all pro Nose Tackle, so that makes getting guys into their lanes much easier.
Overloading works nicely: blitzing and slanting the line to the same direction.

You have a fast, good man coverage rated CB in Newman, so do not beafraid to assign him to the #1 reciever and leave him be.

I do that with Darelle Revis. I dont even worry about him, I leave alone and let him do his job.

Either control a LB to patrol the underneath or flats, or a safety in robber coverage to do the same.

Dont be afraid to press your DB's up in zone and man coverage, if you have the matchups in your favor.

I catch myself thinking that Im playing APF from time to time..You can trust your secondary much more in this game.

do DB's get a bump in all press situations, including zone? If so, that'd be a strong tool for DB's with high bump and low man coverage skills.

Any tips on shedding tacklers with the QB? Just Tuck, run and pray? Or do I bring up runner icons and try moves? Also, any tips on reading DL to help evade them? Any luck with the R-stick? The r-stick hasn't done jack for me so far.

Greazy, I think my opponents can attest I run the 3-4 quite effectively. If you want some pointer and have a mic I'd be glad to scrimmage you and see what we can do under the hood man.
