TCU went undefeated in year 2(they had a very weak schedule, only team that they played that was respectable was Utah who had 9 wins)
and was ranked #1 and beat Clemson in the National Championship.
TCU was ranked #1 probably starting around week 8 or 9 when Clemson lost their only game in the regular season.
