Is there a patch coming out for this game

I can't seem to find any info about a patch for Madden 10. Is their one? When is coming out? What is included in the patch. Sorry if this has been discussed, but I can't find any info on a patch.

I had a dream that this one time, a sports video game was released and it didn't need to be patched to work well... then I woke up and realized that doesn't happen anymore.

You must of been dreaming about games in the 90's and early 2000's. Lol. Thats when you were able to just open the box, pop it in the system and play. (I miss those days) As far as the patch, I think it won't come out until like Oct. (I hope I'm wrong). But just thinking about last year when everyone was waiting months for the DLC. And it never came.

It isn't top secret or secret at all because they already said that they are going to try to fix some things with the patches and info will be coming out soon about what will be fixed.

I'm not sure if that ever happened. If you're talking about the days when companies didn't have the ability to release a downloadable patch to correct issues in a game and the "good ol' days" of when you either had a recall on a game or you were stuck with a broken product....you're alone on that one.

Actually, I don't think I ever had any complaints with Madden on Sega Genesis... or PS one for that matter... None of those games were 'broken', or in need of a patch to fix glitches and piss poor gameplay.

There will be 2 patches coming out sooner are later. What fixes will be on those patches. There is no telling right now. Ian and Phil will let us know soon enough.

Actually, I don't think I ever had any complaints with Madden on Sega Genesis... or PS one for that matter... None of those games were 'broken', or in need of a patch to fix glitches and piss poor gameplay.

It's fair to say that Madden on the Genesis and PS One weren't nearly as complicated as the games being released on the 360 and PS3. And how come you conveniently left out the PS2 and Xbox? I'm 110% sure that if you went back to Madden on the PS One and PS2, you could find things that could have been done better and minor flaws that could have been patched...except the whole concept of patching a console video game didn't come around until 2005 when the 360 dropped.

Back then we learned to cope with a game's short comings and just enjoy it. But now that companies can patch their games after release, people seem to want to use that and say it makes the companies lazy and they don't have any incentive to release a good product because they can always patch it.

It just doesn't add up. Patches didn't create problems in games...directly or indirectly...they're there to fix the problems that pretty much plagues every game that's released.

I have to disagree with you on this. Companies used to make sure the game was working before they released it because there was no way to patch it. Nowadays they release anything and just patch it later.

The way I see it, if a patch is being worked on before the game is even released to the public, as was the case with madden, then it shouldn't have been released. That tells me that the game wasn't finished when it was released.

could just be that back in the day, we played games for the enjoyment and didn't expect perfection. Also, there were no messages boards where flaws and shortcomings were either blown out of proportion or beat to death.

I loved the last gen games as much as the next guy, but I'm not going to just say that they had less glitches...because they didn't.
How is anything in that video different from the direct snap to the WR or that weird moon walking glitch with Favre that we saw a few years ago? Both were things that were fixed with a patch. Everything in that video right there is there to stay. But I guess the ability to patch the game caused that right? Oh....wait....
