    Franchise Player?

If a new team just started EX: Las Angeles just got a team which player would you choose to basically start that franchise? It could be a QB/RB/WR any player I just want to know who would you pick up to basically lead your new franchise? Also when you pick a player just give us a reason why you would pick him?

Personally I would pick Matt Cassel just for he is a young player an he looks very promising he is smart but he also is aggressive an he knows how to use his feet in the pocket even knows how to scramble out of it too but all in all he looks like a very promising QB that could be very successful down the road.

I'll pick Cassel too, if I wanted to go winless.

I'll probably pick Adrian Peterson or Tom Brady. Do I really need to give a reason?

Matt Ryan easy. Only a sophomore and he's already one of the best QBs in the NFL.

I beg to differ. One of the best QBs in the NFL is a bit of a reach. He's borderline top 10 though.

I figure Brees, Brady, Peyton, Rivers, Warner, McNabb, maybe Big Ben and Rodgers. Who else is better though?

Either way, dude's only what, like 22? and he's already very good and he's only gonna get better, and you can get like 10+ years out of him.

I like Aaron Rodgers as well. He looks like he's gonna have a spectacular year. I'd be hard pressed to take an offensive lineman though. Rodgers has been injury prone in the past so it probably wouldn't do any good to get him with no O-line. I'd say Ryan Clady or Joe Thomas. Yes, a raiders fan picked a bronco. You have to have an anchor on that line before anything else. Those 2 guys are considered 2 of the best of the young LT's in the game.

They are in their early 30s but I'll still go with Manning or Brady. Big Ben is another QB I would consider. Final answer, Manning cause he can still produce and he never gets injured. He still has 6-8 good years left.

Easily Big Ben and Rodgers are better. Most people would say Cutler is better as well (I won't give my opinion because it could be considered homer-ish). Chad Pennington could easily be ahead of Ryan, and so could Tony Romo and probably Eli Manning.

So there is no way he is one of the best in the league unless you are factoring in his potential.

IMO Matt Ryan is easily a better QB than Pennington, Eli, and Romo.

Pennington does a good job managing the game and keeping turnovers low, but Ryan definitly has the better arm. Eli Manning never puts up good numbers and is an average QB that piggybacks on the Giants stellar running game and defense. Romo can't win any big games but in the regular season it's a toss up. Ryan took a 4-12 Falcons to the playoffs in his rookie year and played decently well in the playoff game.

Michael Turner is the reason they went to the playoffs...

Agreed. I definitely put Ryan over Eli, Pennington and Romo. And I personally would put him over Cutler too. Cutler still hasn't proven to me that he can win games. Just a big stats guy, and even then, he turns it over too much for my liking.

Either way, I'd go with Ryan as my franchise player.
