Its the beard. EA's looks like the pre San Jose, Boston Bruins Joe without the beard. I'm feeling the bearded Joe a bit more though I agree. I still think EA has the overall edge in graphical touches textures wise but 2k10 has come a long way in the visuals department. Arenas and arena lighting especially. Still hoping we get at least one good gameplay video before release, or a decent enough demo with options, because its really going to come down to gameplay if 2k10 is going to be sucessful this year.Comment

Ovechkin looks good in 2k10. Overall I think EA took that one home, but overall I must say that the pics of player faces I have seen in 2k10 looks really good.
Now let´s see IGN to the same comparsion of the areanas of NHL2k10 and NHL10.Comment

Except for the fact that Realm actually BUYS both games and givers both a fair chance. Venom is very close-minded and will never give EA a fair shake as he is so biased. I think EA's look better in general, bit that isn't to take anything away from the 2k pics as they look great too and are a HUGE improvement over last year. Actually, i have to agree with IGN's votes. Outside of Ovie, 2K's guys look generic to me, i like the detail on NHL 10's faces much much better.Comment

I think 2k looks great IMO....I hope there gameplay is on par this year..
Plus I would take a little less player detail and take 2k presentation and atmosphere over NHL10 generic area's and lake of atmosphere anyday.N.Y Mets

I agree. If gameplay is on par with the presentation and atmosphere I think it's a no brainer to go 2k this year. Esepcailly since as you said in the NHL 10 demo thread it seems similar to last year although I do think some things are better in it but still similar to last year which I enjoyed for a while but then got tired of it.Comment

I thought the render shot they threw out there originally looked fantastic, but it's not the same model they're using in the game, and it's pretty obvious. He doesn't look terrible, but he's definitely not the most accurate face in the game.
Hell, I think Big Joe looks fantastic in 2k. Setoguchi looks dead on as well. Both are miles ahead of Ovie's face, but again, just one man's opinion.
The moral of the story is, your team will look better if the devs are hometown fans of your team? Sharks fans get quite a treat.
