QB Vision Cone - Bring it back (with a caveat)

Make this an option that can be turned on/off. I always thought it was wrong to completely trash it being that a lot of people loved this feature. This would allow sim players more realism while allow arcade players to play the game they want to play it.

I'm with ya OP. Loved the cone. And I love options. Options allow choices. Different choices allow different people to play the way they want. If you like it, turn it on. If not, turn it off. Why are some people such @$$3$?

Some of the "Cone Enhancements" I'd like to see.

• Higher rated QB's able to move vision cone across field faster
• Higher rated QB's have larger vision cones
• Cone can get larger/smaller depending on QB's ability to throw to certain parts of the field

I guess it also equals icons over receivers' heads and a big read circle indicating where the ball might land...

QB vision isnt sim! It isnt a QB ability to see better it his ability to process info quickly the seperate them from good and bad.

I loved the cone as well. Heck give it options:

-Make the cone semi transparent as an option. The "flashlight" excuse is just that: an excuse
-Should be off by default
-Let users turn it on as they'd like; Make this an option in a custom, private game online

Heck, I'd even like it to get a little more difficult and not allow you to see your receivers icon unless you're looking at him.

And since we don't have a "sim" way to get into there head and see how that process works, an arcade flashlight was a welcome addition to simulate that process.

So then you make the cone swap receivers faster on better QB's than others.

Very interesting - although QB's do tend to know where there WR's are for the most part.

You asked, so I answered. I personally can't move the right stick, look all over the field for my receivers while looking at my line, then setting and throwing for the entire game. If they would fix the way you directed the ball, and if they would actually make ratings work, then there would be none of this.

I'm already looking at the receiver, so why should I have to add an extra motion for something that's as easy to fix as making the rating work. The cone took away from presentation, it took away from accessibility, and it sucked the fun out of the game. There's a reason why Ian made that April Fool's Day joke with QB Vision 3.0.

You're right articula, but the thing is a QB doesn't throw at a guy without looking at him. The cone, IMO, always simulated this. (Head movement)

I never used the analog stick. That method was clumsy, IMO. You could also Hold LT (L2) and you'd have to double tap the receiver icon to make the throw. Once to look at a guy, another to throw the ball.

Remember, you have a birds-eye view of the field. That's completely unrealistic. If you're looking strong side, you shouldn't know where the guys are on the weak side.

That was the purpose of the vision cone.

It can certainly be reimplemented in more realistic fashion. But it wasn't entirely out of the question... at least the idea.
