it won't be like that when you get the game. We had to keep his number that way b/c McDyess hadn't announced what number he'd wear by roster cut off.

Both defenders failed to disrupt the bounce pass. There's also other instances in the video where defenders don't acknowledge the ball when it's passed right infront of them.

Thanks. Can you confirm that you can edit the numbers of players on CPU teams in franchise? Also why dont you guys make it impossible for two players to have the same number on the same team?

I feel you on that, a little, but I subscribe to the adage that no game is perfect. There is a bunch of that even in 2K10's combine but there will be sliders, right Marcus?

                  Questions/Comments for EA guys-

This might be just me, but the momentum shots seems counter intuitive - the hop jumper should execute if release the stick, and the one two jumper should be if you hold the stick - as it appears the one two jumper will send you further in the direction you're holding.

Also do these momentum shots have different shot types? Like rip hamilton does a momentum shot off screens but his shot release/gather doesn't take as long as it does in this video.

This happens in every bball game man I'm not saying you shouldn't say anything but damn don't get too bent out of shape.

I hope this is not something that will just ruin the whole game for you, because if it does I dont know how you have made it this far in gaming.

                      NEGATIVES:
-The passing sucks. The way they hand it off to each other , the way they pass to each other overall. Just looks bad. The A.I. player fails to disrupt a pass that's right in front of him.
For example starting 0:59 , Wade + Marshall bounce pass to each other right through two defenders. Those two defenders got their pixels disrespected.
-The shot blocking does not look good at all .
So many instances where defenders just swing at nothing. Like they swing the opposite way the ball is going .
                      - One thing that kills some of the immersion for me is that players receive passes without even looking. Just watch any fastbreaks in that video and you'll see what i'm talking about. Players just stare straight into oblivion on fastbreaks.
                      - The commentary is bad. Marv just doesn't seem right.
I laughed how Marv Knew Derozon's injury before it even occurred.
-There's no umph on those rims when a player dunks . The net animations are lacking.

Overall I applaud the devs for improving Live but i'm still not sold on buying it. I'll probably rent it.
For guys on the fence on making a purchase This is very very important. All throughout the piece I wrote i said over and over again that live is not perfect. I also talked about playing the game vs looking at the game or something similar. I using Dave's comments because these are real issues for him to illustrate a point but also help guys on the fence so this is not a Defend every point type of deal.

For ever so so or bad animated shot block in live there are some that are amazing.

Can you find any ...any nba game that every single pass that could be blocked or knocked away actually is ????

Players receiving passes without looking. That's not right. but are they passes that if the head tracking was working correctly they would be able to catch in real life ?

What nba game can you not find parts where the commentators are out of sync with the actual game ???

Some dunks have no umph and some just look vicious.(he's got a point here though because i don't recall seeing ANY rocket dunks in 2k9)

For Dave live 10 may not be a great game to play because of how it looks. But if you consider that some of these things will continue to occur in any basketball game that is made. How many of these things will effect the outcome of a game your playing to the point of negating everything the game does well.

live 10 does some amazing things but when I or others say its not perfect this is what we mean.

A pass though a leg here or there (again in every game) , A dunk here or there without that explosion.
He's got me on blocks though because 2k9's blocks are basically flawless...LOL

but besides that if these things are not gamebreakers for YOU your really going to be so involved with the mental and stratigical aspects of the game to really really notice more of the bad things in the game than the good.

That is the break-through point in live. However if seeing those things at ALL in your game ruin the experience then def def look closely at every game this year before making your purchase..

this is almost a perfect post to demonstrate where live 10 is not perfect. To ME it simply suffers from things hoops games have always and will always ( except for dunks and blocks cause 2k has proven to do both consistently).

So hopefully that can help guys on the fence in addition to the demo's and such.

i would expect His or any of our breakdown of ANY game would have a similar list with a few things exchanged.

especially if we break out the ol' video cameras and start ta capturing.

in live 10 depending on his speed and quickness ratings and his dna that may or may not be something he has the tools to take advantage of. With all the contact in the paint on higher levels you have to carefully consider if that is a chance you want to take.

Also its very difficult for bigs without handles to dribble in the paint this year.

in past games that center could turn and go as quick as a guard in most instances if he is slow you will learn that that window may not be big enough to be considered a clear path.

The path wouldn't have been clear by the time he got to it. Timmy was lurking and was either going to smack that ball back across his forehead, or commit a hard foul. And we all know Jamaal Magloire is money from the free throw line.

This kind of "lazy physics" encourages bad passing.

If you have defenders in the passing lane, you should have to move your man or move the receiver to get a clear passing angle. In this video clip, the ball should've been deflected off the defenders' legs to discourage bad passing. or the defenders should've seen it coming and stolen the ball - it was right in front of them.

Every game has suffered from collison detection with the basketball going through a players body(see 2K9). As long as it's kept to a minimum it should be fine. The technology just isn't available yet to eliminate it all together.
